About Young Women’s Trust

Young Women’s Trust is a UK organisation working to create a more equal world of work and improve the incomes and opportunities of young women.

The organisation provides free coaching, job application support and information to help young women progress in their careers. It also campaigns on workplace equality and conducts research into the experiences of young women.

Its work focuses on issues including low pay, insecure employment, sexism, misogyny and unequal caring responsibilities.

The organisation is now increasing its fundraising ambitions and is seeking an experienced professional to lead its newly combined fundraising programme.

About the Role

The Partnerships and Philanthropy Lead will oversee a fundraising programme bringing together corporate partnerships, major donors, and trusts and foundations.

These areas already account for more than 80% of Young Women’s Trust’s fundraised income, making this a strategically important position.

The successful candidate will be responsible for strengthening existing relationships while identifying and securing new partnerships that can provide sustainable financial support for the organisation’s mission.

The position therefore combines fundraising strategy, relationship management, partnership development and income generation.

Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will lead efforts to develop and grow relationships with a range of funders and partners.

This will include identifying opportunities for new partnerships while maintaining strong relationships with existing supporters.

The role is particularly suited to someone who can operate strategically while also building trusted relationships with external stakeholders.

The Partnerships and Philanthropy Lead will contribute to the organisation’s broader fundraising ambition by ensuring that partnerships align with Young Women’s Trust’s objectives and programmes.

The successful candidate will need to understand the interests of potential funders and partners and communicate the organisation’s impact in a compelling way.

Corporate Partnerships

Corporate partnerships are a major part of the newly united fundraising programme.

The successful applicant will need to understand how businesses can engage with the organisation’s mission and develop mutually beneficial partnerships.

This may involve cultivating relationships with corporate decision-makers, developing partnership proposals and demonstrating how corporate support can contribute to Young Women’s Trust’s goals.

Strong networking, negotiation and relationship-building skills will therefore be important.

Major Donors, Trusts and Foundations

The role also covers relationships with major donors as well as trusts and foundations.

The successful candidate will need to understand different funding priorities and develop persuasive opportunities that connect potential funders with the organisation’s work.

Experience securing philanthropic income and maintaining long-term donor relationships would be highly relevant.

Candidates should be able to communicate impact clearly and demonstrate why investment in workplace equality and young women’s economic security matters.

Working Arrangements

The organisation’s office is located in Angel, London, but applicants from across the UK are welcomed.

The post holder will be required to work from the London office one day per week, alongside regular travel to events and partner meetings.

Young Women’s Trust also promotes flexible working and states that options such as compressed hours, different start and finish times, working from home, part-time arrangements and job sharing are available where appropriate.

The role is full-time at 35 hours per week, although flexible working arrangements will be considered.

Salary and Benefits

The salary is:

£54,651 – £56,563 per year

The position is a 12-month fixed-term parental leave cover contract.

The organisation offers a range of benefits, including:

  • 27 days of annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Annual leave increasing to a maximum of 30 days.
  • Enhanced parental leave.
  • Two annual wellbeing days.
  • Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Learning and development budget.
  • Flexible working arrangements.

Young Women’s Trust is also a Living Wage employer and states that it is committed to salary transparency.

Inclusive Recruitment

Young Women’s Trust describes itself as an inclusive and representative organisation and welcomes applicants from a wide range of backgrounds, cultures and lived experiences.

The organisation particularly encourages applications from racially minoritised candidates.

It also states that reasonable adjustments can be made throughout the recruitment process and during employment for applicants with accessibility requirements.

Important Visa Requirement

One of the most important points for international applicants is that candidates must already have the right to work in the UK.

Young Women’s Trust explicitly states that it cannot sponsor work visas for non-British applicants.

Therefore, while the organisation welcomes applicants from across the UK, this position is not a suitable visa-sponsored opportunity for someone who currently requires UK work sponsorship.

How to Apply

Applicants must complete the organisation’s job application form and return it to the recruitment team.

Job application form

The organisation also asks applicants to complete an anonymous equal opportunities monitoring form.

Interviews are scheduled for:

16 and 17 September 2026

Candidates should therefore ensure that their completed application is submitted well before the deadline.

Final Thoughts

The Partnerships and Philanthropy Lead position is a strong opportunity for an experienced fundraising, philanthropy or partnership professional who wants to work for an organisation focused on gender equality and economic opportunity.

The salary of up to £56,563, combined with flexible working and a strategic leadership remit, makes the position attractive for candidates with strong experience in corporate partnerships, major donor fundraising and trusts and foundations.

However, international candidates should pay particular attention to the eligibility requirement: Young Women’s Trust does not provide visa sponsorship, so applicants must already have the legal right to work in the UK.

Deadline: 9am, 14 September 2026.
