The World Resources Institute (WRI) is inviting applications for the position of Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) Analyst – Climate Program in Jakarta, Indonesia. This part-time hybrid opportunity is designed for professionals passionate about advancing inclusive climate action, social equity, and sustainable development.

WRI Indonesia works to develop practical solutions for environmental sustainability, climate resilience, and equitable development. The GEDSI Analyst will contribute to ensuring that climate, energy, transport, and carbon pricing initiatives consider the needs and experiences of diverse communities, particularly groups that are often excluded from decision-making processes.
This role focuses on supporting the integration of GEDSI approaches into the Carbon Pricing project under the Climate Program, helping strengthen inclusive climate transitions in Indonesia.
Key Responsibilities
The selected analyst will support research, project implementation, stakeholder engagement, and institutional learning.
Main responsibilities include:
- Conduct research on policies and regulations related to gender equality, disability inclusion, and social equity.
- Analyze climate, energy, and transport transition policies through a GEDSI perspective.
- Develop research tools to assess how different social groups experience benefits, risks, and opportunities.
- Conduct inclusive consultations, interviews, and focus group discussions with stakeholders.
- Develop policy recommendations that promote equitable climate solutions.
- Support workshops, stakeholder meetings, and capacity-building activities.
- Prepare technical reports, research summaries, and knowledge products.
- Assist with project coordination, documentation, and progress reporting.
- Strengthen GEDSI integration across WRI Indonesia projects and institutional processes.
Qualifications and Experience Required
Applicants should have:
- A Master’s degree in social sciences, gender studies, public policy, environmental studies, anthropology, sociology, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of relevant professional experience in GEDSI, social inclusion, environmental justice, community development, or related areas.
- Experience conducting social research using qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Knowledge of gender equality, disability inclusion, and social inclusion issues.
- Understanding of climate change, sustainable development, energy transition, or environmental governance.
- Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to different audiences.
- Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
- Legal authorization to work in Indonesia.
Candidates with experience in climate policy, carbon pricing, transport, energy transition, donor-funded programmes, or NGO research environments will have an advantage.
Hybrid Work Arrangement
This position is based at the WRI Indonesia office in Jakarta and follows an office-flex working arrangement. The role requires employees to work from the office approximately 8 days per month.
Applicants must already have authorization to work in Indonesia, as WRI is unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
Contract Duration and Deliverables
The assignment is expected to begin as soon as possible, with an initial contract period until 31 December 2026, with possible extension depending on performance, programme needs, and available funding.
The analyst will contribute to key deliverables, including:
- GEDSI analytical frameworks and project assessment tools.
- Policy reviews and research outputs.
- Technical recommendations for climate and carbon pricing initiatives.
- Documentation of stakeholder consultations and workshops.
- Monthly progress reports and final project reporting.
- Recommendations for improving GEDSI mainstreaming across programmes.
