The Role

Integrate Health is in year two of an ambitious five-year strategy aimed at scaling high-quality primary healthcare across West Africa. We are seeking a Senior Director of Partnerships to lead the charge in mobilizing resources, expanding our brand visibility, and forging strategic partnerships to advance primary healthcare systems in the region. This position offers an exciting opportunity to have a significant impact on health equity in West Africa.

As a key member of the Executive Team, you will be responsible for overseeing fundraising, communications, and advocacy strategies. You will lead and manage a dynamic team of 10 individuals across various geographies, driving both internal alignment and external influence. The primary focus will be securing sustainable funding, enhancing Integrate Health’s global presence, and building powerful partnerships that accelerate the mission of improving healthcare systems in the region.

Key Responsibilities

Functional Leadership

  • Lead the Partnership Team: Oversee and manage a team of approximately 10 staff members, including those working in Development, Communications, and Advocacy.
  • Strategic Direction: Set objectives and key results (OKRs) for fundraising, communications, and advocacy, ensuring the alignment of cross-functional teams and country-specific needs.
  • Team Empowerment: Ensure the team is structured effectively and that team members are empowered to deliver results. Facilitate open, transparent communication and promote a collaborative, learning-oriented culture.
  • Budget & Risk Management: Manage the Partnership team budget, contribute to accurate forecasting, and identify risks while developing adaptive strategies.
  • Travel: On average, travel once a quarter to country offices and international conferences to foster partnerships and oversee site visits.

Development (Resource Mobilization)

  • Fundraising Strategy: Develop and execute annual and multiyear fundraising goals and strategies, ensuring alignment with Integrate Health’s broader strategic plan.
  • External Representation: Act as the primary representative of Integrate Health in meetings, conferences, and events, embodying the organization’s mission and culture.
  • Financial Oversight: Collaborate with the Finance team to monitor financial health, track funding flows, and evaluate fundraising progress. Utilize tools such as Alteryx, Salesforce, and Excel for accurate forecasting and decision-making.

Communications

  • Brand & Identity: Ensure the organization’s brand identity aligns with our mission, vision, and values across all teams and external communications.
  • Comprehensive Strategy: Develop and implement a communications strategy that supports fundraising, advocacy, thought leadership, and internal purposes.
  • External Communication: Translate programmatic insights and global trends into actionable communications for internal and external stakeholders.

Advocacy & Ecosystem-Building

  • Policy Advocacy: Identify opportunities to influence global funding and policy in favor of strengthening primary healthcare systems in West Africa.
  • Cohesive Advocacy: Coordinate advocacy efforts at the local, national, and global levels, ensuring alignment with programmatic teams.
  • Relationship-Building: Cultivate relationships with key decision-makers and external stakeholders to amplify Integrate Health’s mission.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven leadership experience in non-profit organizations, ideally in the global health or development sectors. Experience in fundraising and building partnerships is a key requirement.
  • Strategic & Analytical Skills: Strong ability to think strategically and solve complex problems. Experience in tracking key metrics and addressing fundraising needs.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to represent the organization externally and coach others in doing so.
  • Cross-Cultural & Remote Team Management: Experience working in cross-cultural settings and managing remote teams effectively.
  • Commitment to Mission: A deep commitment to Integrate Health’s mission of expanding access to healthcare in resource-limited settings.
  • Travel: Ability to travel, averaging once per quarter, to country offices and global conferences.

Desired Skills

  • Fundraising Leadership: Experience building a fundraising team and growing an organization’s budget.
  • Global Health Funding: Knowledge of the global health funding landscape and trends.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in both English and French. The role will require regular use of both languages in professional settings.
  • Experience with Financial Tools: Familiarity with tools such as Salesforce, cashflow management systems, and financial modeling.

Education

  • Master’s Degree: A graduate degree in business, public health, public policy, or a related field is required.
