The position is offered as an initial six-month contract, with the possibility of renewal by mutual agreement. The successful candidate can set their own schedule and may maintain other professional responsibilities alongside the engagement. The start date is immediate, while no specific application closing date has been provided.

About Women Investing for a Sustainable Economy

Women Investing for a Sustainable Economy is a global professional community created by and for women contributing to the sustainable investing sector.

The organisation brings professionals together to build relationships, exchange knowledge, share expertise and support the growth of sustainable investing. Its network currently includes nine chapters and approximately 20–25 chapter leaders.

The Community Coordinator will work closely with the WISE Founders and chapter leaders to strengthen community operations, communications, events and member engagement across the network.

About the Community Coordinator Role

The Community Coordinator will serve as an important operational and communications partner for the organisation. The role combines community management, digital operations, communications, event coordination and administrative support.

WISE is looking for someone who is highly organised, proactive, resourceful and comfortable managing several priorities independently. An interest in sustainable investing, impact investing and community building is important.

Experience with AI-powered productivity tools is also highly valued because the successful candidate will be expected to use technology to automate tasks, improve workflows and increase operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

A major part of the position will involve managing the member experience. The Community Coordinator will onboard and offboard members, maintain accurate member records and manage platforms used for community operations.

These platforms include MemberSpace, Google Groups, Luma, Mailchimp and Stripe. The successful candidate will also collect job opportunities shared by members and add them to the WISE Jobs Board.

The role will involve identifying operational gaps, developing standard operating procedures and recommending practical improvements.

The Community Coordinator will also support WISE Founders and chapter leaders by preparing meeting agendas, maintaining action items and using AI-powered meeting notes and task management tools.

Other responsibilities include supporting chapter events, coordinating quarterly chapter leader meetings, facilitating cross-chapter collaboration and maintaining organisational resources and documentation.

Communications and Social Media

Communications will be another major component of the role. The successful candidate will serve as a primary contact for members, prospective members and chapter leaders.

Responsibilities include maintaining the WISE website, updating chapter pages, promoting global events and responding to enquiries.

The Community Coordinator will also manage social media communications for LinkedIn and Instagram. This includes drafting and designing content, moderating social media activity, producing the weekly global update and publishing a monthly newsletter.

The role will also involve highlighting member profiles, showcasing chapter achievements, recapping events and coordinating communications around major organisational activities.

Skills and Qualifications

WISE is seeking candidates with excellent attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.

Applicants should have strong organisational and project-management abilities and be comfortable handling multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

Experience or knowledge of sustainable and impact investing is preferred. Familiarity with WISE and the sustainable investing sector would be an advantage.

Candidates should also be confident learning and managing digital platforms. Experience with Luma, Zoom, Mailchimp, Zapier, MemberSpace, Squarespace, Google Workspace, Google Groups and AI productivity tools would be beneficial.

Remote Working and Compensation

This is a fully remote U.S.-based independent contractor position. The Community Coordinator will work approximately 10+ hours per week, set their own schedule and use their own equipment.

Compensation ranges from $25 to $40 per hour, based on experience. The initial contract lasts six months and may be renewed by mutual agreement.

Because this is a U.S.-based contractor role, applicants should ensure they meet the applicable work-location and contracting requirements.

How to Apply

Applicants should submit a PDF resume and a brief statement explaining their interest in the Community Coordinator position.

Applications should be sent to the email address provided in the job announcement:
