Purpose of the Role
The Global Security Manager will be the primary point of contact for managing the safety and security needs of WeWorld’s operations around the globe. Working closely with Regional Coordinators and Country Representatives, the Security Manager will oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of security measures for the organization. This role is vital in supporting WeWorld’s staff and operations, ensuring security compliance and mitigating risks to keep everyone safe.
Key Responsibilities
The Global Security Manager will be responsible for:
- Security Planning and Implementation: Develop and oversee Country Security Plans, ensuring effective implementation across WeWorld’s global offices and programs.
- Risk Assessment and Analysis: Lead security risk analysis and provide technical expertise in evaluating security needs across all operations.
- Crisis Management: Provide guidance and coordination during critical incidents, ensuring the safety of staff and beneficiaries.
- Security Compliance and Monitoring: Ensure adherence to security policies and procedures. Monitor security measures to ensure continuous improvement and compliance.
- Training and Support: Promote and lead staff training on security-related topics, especially for personnel responsible for security at the country level.
- Field Missions: Conduct field missions as necessary to assess security needs, gather data, and provide on-ground support.
Essential Requirements
Qualifications and Knowledge:
- A Master’s degree is preferred, or at least a Bachelor’s degree in international relations, regional studies, security, or a related field.
- Fluency in English and French is required (Italian is a plus).
Professional Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in security management, international relations, or a related field, ideally within the humanitarian sector.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work flexibly and effectively, both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Positive attitude, self-motivated, and a passion for WeWorld’s mission.
- Willingness to undertake field trips when necessary.
- Ability to provide technical expertise and guidance in the field of security.
