The expert will:

- Analyze existing systems for waste and scrap material control
- Understand operational gaps in inspection practices

2. Training Development and Delivery
The core of the assignment is designing and delivering technical training for inspectors.
The consultant will:
- Develop training materials on scrap and waste inspection (metal and plastic)

- Develop sampling protocols based on shipment size and risk levels
- Create inspection checklists for field application

3. Reporting and Evaluation

Required Qualifications
Applicants must meet strong technical and professional requirements in waste management and inspection systems.
Education
- Advanced degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Engineering, Waste Management, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field
Experience
- At least 7 years of experience in scrap or waste management, inspection, or regulatory systems
- At least 3 years of hands-on field inspection experience (ports, customs, or border controls)
- Experience developing SOPs, inspection checklists, or sampling protocols
- Knowledge of the Basel Convention and transboundary waste regulations
- At least 3 years of experience delivering technical training
Language
- Full professional fluency in English is required
