UNFPA Surge Response Roster – Emergency Supply Chain & Logistics Specialists (Internationally Recruited Remote Positions)

Overview
UNFPA is establishing a Surge Response Roster of highly qualified specialists to provide critical support in emergency supply chain, procurement, and logistics operations during humanitarian crises worldwide.
Selected candidates will be deployed for short-term surge missions (3–6 months) to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of essential reproductive health supplies and services to populations in need.
The Surge Response Roster includes three internationally recruited positions:
- Supply Chain Management in Emergencies Specialist
- Emergency Procurement Specialist
- Logistics in Emergencies Specialist

Key Responsibilities
1. Supply Chain Management in Emergencies Specialist
- Conduct field assessments to identify supply gaps.
- Develop and update costed supply plans in coordination with operations and programme teams.
- Advise on forecasting, kit composition, and prioritization of emergency supplies.
- Support distribution planning and monitor inventory and service delivery data.
- Coordinate with partners, clusters, and government authorities for integrated supply response.
2. Emergency Procurement Specialist
- Facilitate rapid procurement of essential reproductive health and emergency supplies.
- Ensure compliance with UNFPA procurement policies and donor requirements.
- Support procurement planning based on emergency forecasts and programme priorities.
- Coordinate with vendors, partners, and UN systems to optimize supply timelines.
3. Logistics in Emergencies Specialist
- Oversee storage, transportation, and last-mile distribution of supplies.
- Implement and update logistics operations plans, including importation, warehousing, and distribution corridors.
- Liaise with logistics clusters, humanitarian partners, and implementing partners.
- Establish monitoring systems for stock management and ensure quality compliance.
- Provide on-the-job training to staff and partner personnel on emergency logistics and cold chain management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Advanced degree in logistics, supply chain management, procurement, pharmaceutical sciences, or relevant field.
- First university degree with substantial experience may be considered.
- 5–7 years of field experience in emergency settings managing medical or humanitarian supplies.
- Experience with UN, INGO, or UNFPA systems preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of other UN languages is an asset.
- Knowledge of supply chain software and humanitarian response frameworks is advantageous.
Assessment & Selection
