Working remotely, the successful candidate will support CAFI’s communications strategy by producing compelling multimedia content, managing digital platforms, coordinating media engagement, and ensuring high-quality communication products across its international portfolio.
This is a full-time, home-based International Personnel Services Agreement (IPSA-11) contract with an initial duration of one year.

Key Responsibilities
The Communications Specialist will oversee a broad range of communications activities across the CAFI Secretariat.
Content Creation
Responsibilities include:
- Creating engaging content for CAFI’s website and digital platforms.
- Managing and updating CAFI’s social media channels.
- Producing stories, graphics, videos, presentations, and multimedia materials.
- Identifying impactful stories from country programmes.
- Developing communication campaigns around international events and awareness days.
- Expanding CAFI’s digital visibility and audience engagement.
Communications Quality Control
The successful candidate will:
- Design infographics, brochures, reports, posters, and presentations.
- Review publications to ensure consistency with CAFI’s communication strategy.
- Develop Terms of Reference for communication contractors.
- Monitor the quality of communication products produced by external consultants.
- Maintain a centralized communications asset database.
- Ensure all outputs align with CAFI branding guidelines.
Media Relations
The role also includes:
- Drafting press releases and media statements.
- Preparing talking points and video scripts.
- Supporting interviews and media outreach.
- Coordinating journalists and photographers during field missions.
- Managing communication consultants in partner countries.

Required Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
- Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field with at least 7 years of relevant experience.
OR
- Bachelor’s degree with 9 years of relevant professional experience.
Required Experience
Candidates should demonstrate experience in:
- Strategic communications
- Content creation and multimedia production
- Social media management
- Graphic design using tools such as Canva, Adobe Express, or Figma
- Media relations
- Communications strategy development
- Editing and quality assurance
- Translating technical information into accessible public content

Experience working across international development programmes is highly desirable.
Language Requirements
