Role Overview
Skybil is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Back-End Web Programming Instructor to lead the PHP, REST API, and GraphQL training track. This is a long-term, revenue-sharing partnership rather than a fixed salary role. As the instructor, you will mentor the next generation of Nigerian developers, build your professional brand, and earn a percentage of the revenue generated by your training track.
This role is ideal for a developer who is passionate about teaching, mentoring, and sharing practical skills while enjoying full flexibility in their work schedule. You will have the opportunity to design course materials, record video lessons, and interact with students remotely, contributing to Skybil’s goal of building a skilled and empowered tech workforce in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver high-quality instruction in PHP, REST API, and GraphQL for learners with varying levels of experience.
- Mentor students individually and in group settings, providing guidance, feedback, and support throughout the course.
- Record engaging video lessons and tutorials with clear explanations of concepts and coding practices.
- Collaborate with Skybil’s curriculum team to ensure the content is up-to-date, industry-relevant, and accessible.
- Monitor student progress, evaluate assignments, and provide constructive feedback to enhance learning outcomes.
- Help foster an interactive learning environment that encourages problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration among students.
- Promote your personal brand and establish thought leadership within the Nigerian tech ecosystem.
- Contribute ideas for improving course structure, materials, and instructional methods based on learner feedback and emerging trends.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Proficiency in PHP, REST API, and GraphQL, with a strong portfolio of past projects or professional experience.
- Prior experience in teaching, mentoring, or training, especially in web development or software engineering.
- Access to a reliable laptop or computer and a high-quality camera for video-recorded instruction.
- Comfort and confidence with video-recorded teaching and online instruction.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to explain complex technical concepts in a simple, engaging manner.
