TGEU has announced an open call for an external consultant to lead strategic messaging research and testing for its upcoming 2026 Trans Murder Monitoring (TMM) and Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDoR) campaign. The consultancy opportunity is designed for communications researchers, advocacy specialists, and human rights professionals with experience in audience insights, qualitative research, and message testing.
The selected consultant will work alongside TGEU’s Communications, Research, and Policy teams to develop evidence-based recommendations that will strengthen the impact of the 2026 campaign.

About the TMM/TDoR 2026 Campaign Consultancy
Every year, TGEU’s Trans Murder Monitoring and Transgender Day of Remembrance campaign raises global awareness about violence against trans people, commemorates lives lost, and advocates for stronger protections for trans communities.
The campaign combines research, remembrance, community solidarity, and policy advocacy to highlight the ongoing impact of anti-trans violence worldwide.
For the 2026 campaign, TGEU aims to strengthen its communication approach through strategic research and message testing. The goal is to better understand how different audiences respond to campaign narratives and identify communication strategies that create meaningful engagement and support.
The consultant will focus on research and analysis rather than serving as a campaign strategist or creative lead.

Responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing previous campaign materials, messaging approaches, and available insights.
- Designing a qualitative research methodology focused on audience responses.
- Developing research tools, including focus group guides and message-testing materials.
- Supporting the creation of messaging concepts for evaluation.
- Facilitating focus groups with selected audience groups.
- Analysing findings and producing recommendations to guide campaign communications.
The consultant will serve as a research partner, helping TGEU understand audience perspectives on themes such as remembrance, structural violence, accountability, solidarity, and calls for action.

- A detailed research and message-testing plan.
- Discussion guides and research materials for focus groups.
- Messaging concepts developed for testing.
