International Programs Media Strategist / Producer Consultant – AFSC (Remote Consultancy, $400–$600/day)

The American Friends Service Committee (AFSC), a Quaker organization dedicated to peace and social justice, is seeking a Digital Media Strategist / Producer Consultant to support its global communications work under the Global Voices for Peace (GVP) initiative.
This consultancy focuses on strengthening AFSC’s digital storytelling, audience engagement, and campaign production to support global peacebuilding and human rights advocacy.

Role Overview
The consultant will combine digital strategy development and content production, helping AFSC expand its global digital presence and strengthen engagement with audiences.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing digital engagement strategies
- Producing multimedia content (especially short-form video)
- Developing storytelling campaigns
- Managing digital audience growth and engagement
- Tracking performance metrics and analytics
This is a remote consultancy role with flexible working arrangements.
Scope of Work
Digital Strategy and Planning
- Develop a comprehensive digital engagement strategy
- Design content calendars and campaign plans
- Align storytelling with organizational goals and advocacy priorities
Content Creation and Campaign Development
- Produce short-form videos and digital media content
- Create campaign packages and storytelling series
- Translate complex peace and justice issues into accessible content
Audience Engagement
- Grow and maintain digital audiences across platforms
- Strengthen online community engagement
- Improve interaction and participation in campaigns
Performance Monitoring and Learning
- Track engagement metrics and analytics
- Produce monthly performance reports
- Provide recommendations for improving digital reach and impact
Key Deliverables
The consultant will be expected to produce:
- Digital strategy and audience engagement plan
- Monthly content calendars
- Short-form video content packages
- Digital advocacy campaign materials
- Monthly analytics and performance reports
Duration and Working Arrangement
- Duration: 6 months (with possible extension)
- Commitment: 10–15 days per month
- Location: Remote (global)
- Reporting: Reports to the Associate General Secretary for International Programs (Kerri Kennedy)
The consultant will collaborate closely with AFSC’s International Programs and communications teams.
Required Qualifications
Candidates should have strong experience in digital media and advocacy communications.
Required skills and experience include:
- Experience in digital strategy development
- Strong storytelling and video production skills
- Background in nonprofit or advocacy communications
- Ability to simplify complex social issues into engaging content
- Experience managing digital campaigns and audience engagement
- Familiarity with analytics and performance tracking
Compensation
This consultancy offers competitive compensation based on experience.
- Daily rate: $400–$600 USD per day
- Estimated workload: 10–15 days per month
- Payment: Monthly or bi-monthly invoicing
