CABI Seeks Consultancy for High-Level Burundi–Netherlands Agricultural Study Visit Coordination (2026)

The Centre for Agriculture and Biosciences International (CABI) is seeking experienced consultancy support to coordinate and facilitate a high-level 7-day study visit by a Burundian government delegation to the Netherlands. This assignment represents a strategic opportunity to strengthen international agricultural cooperation, knowledge exchange, and institutional learning between Africa and Europe.

With a deadline of 15 June 2026, the consultancy will focus on delivering seamless logistical coordination, institutional engagement, and programme facilitation for senior government officials from Burundi’s Ministry of Environment, Agriculture and Livestock (MINEAGRIE), alongside representatives from the PlantwisePlus Burundi initiative.

About the Consultancy Assignment

This consultancy is designed to ensure the successful planning and delivery of a structured study visit to the Netherlands, a global leader in agricultural innovation and export systems.

The selected consultant will help design and implement a 7-day programme that exposes the Burundian delegation to the Dutch “Diamond Model,” which integrates government, private sector, research institutions, and civil society in agricultural transformation.

Key Responsibilities

The consultancy partner will be responsible for:

  • Designing and coordinating the study visit programme
  • Arranging institutional meetings and stakeholder engagements
  • Managing on-site logistics in the Netherlands
  • Facilitating knowledge exchange between Dutch institutions and the Burundian delegation
  • Ensuring smooth execution of the full 7-day itinerary

Budget Scope

Applicants must submit a financial proposal covering:

  • Programme coordination and planning
  • Institutional liaison and scheduling
  • On-site coordination during the visit
  • Logistical support services

(Note: International travel and accommodation for the delegation will be covered separately.)

Required Experience

  • 5–9 years in project/programme management
  • Experience coordinating international study visits or delegations
  • Background in agriculture, development, or institutional partnerships
  • Strong stakeholder coordination and communication skills
  • Ability to work in multilingual environments (French preferred)
