Junior IT Specialist Role Overview
The Junior IT Specialist will provide technical support for Solidaridad’s daily technology needs while helping maintain and improve the organization’s global IT infrastructure.
The successful candidate will work closely with the global data specialist and regional IT teams to ensure secure, efficient, and reliable technology operations.

Key Responsibilities
The Junior IT Specialist will support:
System & Network Administration
Responsibilities include:
- Managing Google Workspace restructuring and improvements
- Implementing standardized Shared Drives and folder structures
- Supporting user account creation and removal processes
- Managing access permissions and security controls
- Monitoring backup systems and supporting data recovery processes
- Conducting restoration tests to ensure business continuity
IT Security and Compliance
The role will also involve:
- Supporting cybersecurity standards across the organization
- Helping implement IT security policies
- Ensuring compliance with GDPR and data privacy requirements
- Reducing risks related to unauthorized access and data breaches
- Maintaining technical documentation of systems and procedures
Global IT Support
The Junior IT Specialist will:
- Respond to daily service desk requests
- Provide technical troubleshooting support
- Coordinate with regional IT teams
- Assist staff across different locations
- Provide technical support to the Executive Director’s office
Required Qualifications and Skills
Candidates should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related fields
- Practical hands-on IT experience
- 2–3 years of experience in IT administration, helpdesk support, or network security
- Knowledge of Google Workspace Admin Console
- Experience managing access controls and Shared Drive governance
- Familiarity with Salesforce and Certinia systems
- Understanding of GDPR and information security practices
- Experience with backup solutions and user access management
Strong English communication skills are required.
Additional languages such as Spanish, Portuguese, or French are considered an advantage due to Solidaridad’s international operations.
