About SDSN Youth
The UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) was established in 2012 under the auspices of the United Nations Secretary-General to mobilize scientific and technological expertise in support of sustainable development. SDSN works globally to accelerate the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Climate Agreement through collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing.
Launched in 2015, SDSN Youth empowers young people to develop practical solutions to global sustainability challenges. Through its National and Regional Youth Networks, SDSN Youth equips emerging leaders with the skills, knowledge, and opportunities needed to drive sustainable change within their communities.
About the Networks Project Officer Role
The Networks Project Officer will work closely with the Global Youth Networks Project Lead to strengthen collaboration among SDSN Youth’s National and Regional Networks. The successful candidate will help improve network coordination, increase the visibility of youth-led initiatives, and support effective communication across a diverse global community.
This role is designed for individuals who enjoy project coordination, stakeholder engagement, administration, and working in multicultural virtual environments.
Key Responsibilities
The Networks Project Officer will be responsible for a variety of coordination and operational tasks, including:
- Supporting the Global Youth Networks Project Lead with network management and performance monitoring.
- Developing quarterly reports and ensuring network activities are accurately documented.
- Monitoring and responding to communications received through the network’s email inbox.
- Researching speaking opportunities, partnerships, and volunteer engagements for network coordinators.
- Identifying skills gaps and helping design capacity-building initiatives and training opportunities.
- Updating internal guidelines and operational documents.
- Analyzing feedback from National and Regional Youth Networks to identify challenges and opportunities.
- Participating in monthly and quarterly coordination meetings.
- Promoting collaboration and engagement among youth networks worldwide.
- Upholding SDSN Youth’s Code of Conduct and commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals.
Who Should Apply?
SDSN Youth is seeking enthusiastic young professionals and volunteers who meet the following criteria:
- Between 18 and 30 years of age (with flexibility up to 35 years).
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Previous experience in youth leadership or student organizations.
- Strong interest in sustainable development, climate action, and the Sustainable Development Goals.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to communicate proactively while working in a remote international environment.
- Demonstrated experience in project coordination, stakeholder engagement, event management, operations, or volunteer leadership.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace and other online collaboration tools.
- Availability to commit approximately 10 hours per week throughout the appointment.

Position Details
The initial appointment is for 12 months, beginning with a three-month probation period. Subject to satisfactory performance, the appointment may be extended.
