The Sankofa Impact Collective is Seeking a Partnerships Manager (Part-Time, Contract, Fully Remote)

Contract Type: Part-time, Contract
Location: Fully Remote (Global)
Estimated Commitment: Approximately 15 hours per week
Compensation: USD 20–30 per hour, depending on experience
Role Overview
The Partnerships Manager plays a central role in supporting the intentional and values-aligned growth of the Sankofa Impact Collective. This position focuses on cultivating trusted relationships that align with Sankofa’s mission, community values, and capacity, rather than pursuing rapid or transactional growth.
Sankofa grows through care, integrity, and alignment. Partnerships are a key expression of this approach. The Partnerships Manager builds and stewards relationships with organizations, networks, and collectives that already support engaged communities of women seeking sustainability, alignment, and long-term growth.
This role ensures that community growth happens through invitation, trust, and mutual fit. The Partnerships Manager acts as a steward of relationships, creating pathways that feel respectful, grounded, and beneficial to both Sankofa and its partners.
This is not a sales or lead-generation role. It is a relationship-driven position centered on discernment, long-term engagement, and ecosystem building.
Why This Role Matters
Sankofa’s growth strategy prioritizes sustainability, readiness, and community well-being. Without careful stewardship, partnerships risk becoming extractive or misaligned, undermining trust and long-term impact.
The Partnerships Manager ensures that growth occurs at a pace and in a manner that supports both the internal community and external partners. By cultivating relationships with organizations serving women creatives, entrepreneurs, and leaders—including Black-led spaces and broader communities where Black women are already engaged—this role creates meaningful and supportive entry points into Sankofa.
The result is growth that is intentional, relational, and deeply aligned with Sankofa’s purpose.
Key Areas of Ownership
The Partnerships Manager owns how Sankofa grows through collaboration and relationship-building. Success in this role is reflected in a trusted network of partners and partnership-led recruitment that feels consistent, clear, and values-driven.
Primary areas of responsibility include:
Partnership Strategy and Relationship Building
- Identify, initiate, and steward relationships with aligned organizations, networks, and collectives
- Build long-term partnerships grounded in trust, reciprocity, and shared values
Partnership-Led Recruitment Pathways
- Design invitation-based pathways that prioritize fit, readiness, and sustained engagement
- Support community growth without prioritizing scale over alignment
Cross-Team Alignment
- Collaborate with internal team members to ensure partnerships align with community capacity, priorities, and lived experience
- Ensure external commitments remain realistic and supportive of internal operations
Insights and Continuous Improvement
- Use qualitative insights and light data to refine partnership strategies
- Continuously assess what is working, what feels misaligned, and where adjustments are needed
Experience and Background
The ideal candidate brings a blend of relationship-building expertise, strategic thinking, and thoughtful storytelling. This role requires comfort engaging externally while maintaining strong alignment with internal values and realities.
Candidates will typically bring:
- 3–7 years of experience in partnerships, community growth, recruitment, nonprofit work, business development, or other relationship-driven roles
- Experience engaging and managing stakeholders across organizations and communities
- Strong ability to articulate value, purpose, and alignment in partnership conversations
- Storytelling skills that communicate mission and impact in a clear, accessible, and resonant way
- Experience contributing to or leading partnership-based recruitment or growth initiatives
- Comfort working with qualitative insights and basic data to inform decision-making
- A balance of strategic thinking and consistent execution
- Experience representing organizations thoughtfully and professionally in external-facing contexts
- Cultural fluency and relational intelligence, particularly in community-centered and identity-aware spaces
Applicants are encouraged to apply even if they do not meet every listed qualification. Sankofa values alignment, intention, and lived experience alongside formal credentials.
A Note on Fit
This role is well suited to individuals who value depth over speed, alignment over expansion, and trust over transactions. The ideal candidate is energized by long-term relationship building and understands that sustainable growth requires care, patience, and discernment.
Applicants should be comfortable working in a mission-driven environment where community well-being, lived experience, and values guide decision-making.
