The Research Analyst will play a central role in CEP’s mission by designing methodologically sound studies, performing both quantitative and qualitative analyses, and translating research into actionable recommendations for philanthropic funders. Role Overview

The Analyst – Research will work closely with CEP’s staff to provide data-driven insights that enhance the effectiveness of philanthropic organizations. The position involves designing and executing research projects, analyzing data from foundations, grantees, and beneficiaries, and contributing to high-quality reports that guide foundation leaders. The role requires independent project management, strong collaboration with team members, and the ability to navigate complex data to produce clear and actionable conclusions.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct rigorous quantitative and qualitative analyses using data from foundations, nonprofit organizations, grantees, and other stakeholders.
• Design and field surveys, ensuring high-quality sampling and data collection processes.
• Synthesize research findings and contribute to the development of clear, persuasive reports for foundation executives, boards, and staff.
• Independently manage assigned projects, including timelines and deliverables, while coordinating with senior team members as needed.
• Collaborate on cross-team initiatives, contributing to CEP’s internal knowledge base and operations.
• Participate in discussions that shape research design, analysis approaches, and the presentation of findings.
• Uphold the highest standards of quality, attention to detail, and ethical conduct in all work.

Qualifications and Skills

• College degree (B.S., B.A., or equivalent experience) with relevant work experience, or a master’s degree required.
• Proficiency in statistical analyses, including T-tests, ANOVA, and Chi-square tests; experience with regression analyses preferred.
• Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills with the ability to synthesize findings into actionable recommendations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with statistical software such as R or Python required.
• Experience with survey design is a plus.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity effectively.
