This remote, full-time, 12-month position is open to candidates based in the UK or any country where Relief International operates. Role Overview: AI Solutions Engineer

The AI Solutions Engineer will lead the design and deployment of AI tools across Relief International, focusing on practical applications that improve information access, compliance, and productivity. This is a hands-on role that combines technical expertise with an understanding of organizational needs in humanitarian contexts.

Key responsibilities include:

• AI Solution Development
  • Design, build, and maintain AI assistants and Copilot agents using Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) over approved organizational documents.
  • Structure and optimize SharePoint content for reliable AI retrieval and accurate document citation.
  • Ensure AI tools comply with information security, access permissions, and data protection requirements.
• Collaboration Across Teams
  • Work closely with global HR, Finance, Supply Chain, and Program teams to translate business needs into safe and usable AI solutions.
  • Support adoption of AI tools by developing guidance, training materials, and documentation.
• Monitoring and Continuous Improvement
  • Track AI tool usage and performance, iteratively improving solutions based on feedback and operational requirements.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate combines AI technical expertise with practical problem-solving skills in organizational contexts. Required Skills and Experience:

• Hands-on experience building AI assistants or chatbots using organizational documents (SharePoint, file repositories).
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including SharePoint, Teams, and Copilot.
• Ability to manage large document volumes and optimize them for AI retrieval.
• Understanding of identity, access controls, and permission-based information management.
• Experience delivering production-grade digital tools for non-technical staff.
• Confidence explaining technical concepts and supporting staff adoption of new AI tools.
• Ability to work effectively in a globally distributed, remote organization.

Desirable Skills:

• Familiarity with Azure AI/Search services.
• Knowledge of data protection requirements or humanitarian contexts.
