Salary: €65,000 gross of tax; 33 days of annual leave
Duration: Full-time, subject to probationary period and 3 months notice

Concordis International is seeking an experienced Regional Director to lead and expand its peacebuilding programme in the Central African borderlands, covering the Central African Republic (CAR), Chad, and Cameroon. This is a senior role within a growing organisation dedicated to preventing and mitigating conflict in fragile regions through community-led solutions and cross-border cooperation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction for Concordis’ programme in the region, ensuring effective delivery and expansion through innovative funding solutions.
  • Lead a team of over 100 staff across three countries, ensuring the growth and development of personnel while maintaining a culture of excellence and accountability.
  • Foster relationships with local, national, and international stakeholders, advocating for policies that address the root causes of conflict and promote peacebuilding.
  • Oversee the implementation of peacebuilding activities, including conflict resolution, community dialogue, and strengthening local governance mechanisms in border areas.
  • Represent Concordis in high-level meetings with governments, diplomatic staff, and multilateral agencies to influence peacebuilding strategies.

Required Experience:

  • A minimum of 10 years in peacebuilding or international development, with experience in complex, conflict-affected regions.
  • At least 5 years in senior leadership roles managing large-scale programmes and budgets over $1m annually.
  • Proven success in securing grants from institutional donors such as the EU or USAID.
  • Strong management and team leadership skills, with experience in culturally diverse and challenging environments.
  • Fluency in both English and French, with professional-level verbal and written communication skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Fluency in Arabic, Sango, or Fulfulde.
  • A Master’s degree in international relations, conflict resolution, or a related field.
  • Experience with NGO security management and peacebuilding facilitation.
