Position Summary
Reporting to the Development Director, the Development Manager will manage fundraising operations and develop strategies to increase individual giving, oversee annual fund campaigns, and coordinate fundraising events. The role requires a hands-on professional capable of building relationships with donors, implementing best practices in development, and supporting both campus-level and national fundraising initiatives.
The Development Manager will work closely with the Development Director and other staff to ensure effective fundraising strategies and seamless execution of donor engagement plans, including tracking performance and leveraging analytics for improved outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Individual Giving & Annual Fund Leadership
- Lead and implement the Annual Giving program, meeting fundraising goals to support the general operating budget
- Identify, cultivate, and steward individual donors to grow long-term engagement
- Plan and execute appeals, stewardship initiatives, and donor recognition campaigns
- Collaborate with the Development Team and National Advancement Team on donor engagement strategies
- Track donor pipelines and report on progress toward financial goals
Development Operations & Data Management
- Maintain accurate fundraising records using Raiser’s Edge, ensuring data integrity for donors and prospects
- Generate detailed reports to track donor activity, funding sources, and campaign performance
- Conduct research to identify new potential donors and monitor trends in philanthropy
- Implement best practices for local development operations while integrating technology to improve efficiency
- Collaborate on initiatives that strengthen data-driven fundraising strategies
Special Events & Stakeholder Engagement
- Plan and manage campus-level and national fundraising events, including a major annual luncheon
- Solicit corporate and community sponsors to support events
- Attend events to engage stakeholders, build relationships, and promote the organization’s mission
- Participate in team meetings, seminars, workshops, and Board-related events as needed
- Work with volunteers and interns to expand the organization’s capacity
Other Duties
- Adapt to evolving responsibilities as the role grows, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities
- Support the Development Director and team in any additional fundraising or operational needs
Qualifications
Required:
- 2-year degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit management, development, or related fields
- Managerial experience in nonprofit fundraising or development
- Knowledge of donor management best practices and familiarity with Raiser’s Edge
- Strong writing, storytelling, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across teams
- Commitment to the values and mission of the Jeremiah Program
Preferred:
- Experience with special events planning, major gifts, and annual fund campaigns
- Background in community development, conflict resolution, or entrepreneurship programs
- Familiarity with fundraising strategies for women-focused nonprofits
