Role Summary

The Program Management Consultant will play a central role in ensuring alignment across AFF’s key workstreams, including:

  • Country Program Delivery
  • Advocacy and Policy
  • Strategy and Design

This is a hands-on position that requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management and Systems Development

  • Design and implement a centralized project management system.
  • Create standardized workflows, templates, and governance structures.
  • Maintain master trackers for deliverables, budgets, risks, and timelines.
  • Ensure quality assurance and alignment with reporting requirements.

Asana Integration and Workflow Optimization

  • Lead the transition to an “Asana-first” project management culture.
  • Train teams on advanced Asana usage and standardized workflows.
  • Build automated systems to track dependencies and flag risks early.
  • Ensure most projects are actively tracked and updated weekly.

Reporting and Stakeholder Coordination

  • Coordinate internal and external reporting cycles.
  • Synthesize inputs into clear, actionable reports.
  • Prepare updates for funders and key partners such as Africa CDC and ALMA.
  • Support quarterly and annual reporting requirements.

Events and Convenings

  • Plan and execute major events, including policy forums and learning sessions.
  • Manage logistics, agendas, and participant coordination.
  • Produce post-event reports with insights and action points.

Knowledge Management

  • Develop and launch a centralized knowledge hub.
  • Upload and organize key documents, case studies, and reports.
  • Contribute to strategic publications and policy documents.

Project Close-Out and Evaluation

  • Prepare close-out documentation and handover materials.
  • Conduct audits and identify process improvements.
  • Deliver a final consultancy report summarizing outcomes and lessons learned.

Required Qualifications

Candidates should demonstrate strong experience in project management, particularly in health or development contexts:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience managing complex, multi-country programs.
  • Advanced proficiency in Asana and Google Workspace.
  • Strong documentation, reporting, and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of Primary Health Care (PHC) and Community Health Worker (CHW) programs.
  • Ability to manage stakeholders and maintain effective communication.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in policy and advocacy work.
  • Background in health systems strengthening programs.
  • Familiarity with working alongside governments and funding institutions.

Consultancy Details

  • Duration: April 2026 – April 2027
  • Commitment: Up to 32 hours per week
  • Compensation: Up to $1,000 per week
  • Location: Remote (EAT timezone preferred)
