Project Officer – AI & Emerging Tech (HD) | Deadline: 8 May 2026

About the Organization
The Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue is a private diplomacy organization committed to preventing, mitigating, and resolving armed conflict through dialogue and mediation. Built on the principles of neutrality, impartiality, independence, and humanity, the organization works globally across more than 40 countries with a diverse team of over 300 professionals.
Its approach centers on discreet diplomacy—creating safe and confidential spaces where governments, armed groups, and other stakeholders can engage in meaningful dialogue. By supporting negotiations and fostering trust among conflicting parties, the organization plays a critical role in advancing peace processes and reducing violence worldwide.
About the Role
The Project Officer will join the AI and Emerging Technologies (AIET) programme within the organization’s Digital Conflict Directorate. This directorate focuses on the intersection of technology and conflict, addressing issues such as cyber diplomacy, social media’s role in conflict, artificial intelligence, and emerging domains like outer space governance.
Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming the global security landscape, introducing new risks related to decision-making systems, autonomous technologies, and misuse scenarios. At the same time, formal diplomatic mechanisms are still adapting to these developments. The AIET programme works to bridge this gap by convening governments, industry leaders, and experts to explore governance solutions.
The programme operates across two main tracks: military applications of AI and advanced civilian AI systems (often referred to as frontier AI). Through dialogue and research, it aims to support practical and effective policy responses to emerging risks.
