About the Internship
Positive Money is recruiting a Policy Intern to support its advocacy and policy work focused on reforming the money and banking system in Europe. This internship offers a unique opportunity for early-career professionals to gain hands-on experience in policy analysis, advocacy, and public affairs within the context of economic and financial reform.
The successful candidate will report to the Head of Policy and will primarily support work related to the European Central Bank (ECB) and engagement with EU policymakers. The role is well suited to individuals interested in EU governance, monetary policy, climate finance, and sustainable economic systems.
Key Responsibilities
As a Policy Intern, you will contribute to a wide range of policy and advocacy activities, including:
- Assisting in the development of policy briefs, position papers, blogs, and advocacy materials
- Monitoring EU legislative and regulatory developments, particularly debates around the ECB’s climate action, the digital euro, and sustainable finance
- Supporting stakeholder outreach and relationship-building, including engagement with policymakers, NGOs, ECB officials, and National Central Bank (NCB) representatives
- Assisting with the preparation of meetings, events, and presentations, including materials for public speaking engagements
- Providing general administrative support to the policy team, such as scheduling meetings, managing documentation, and maintaining databases

Person Specification

- Willingness to learn about EU monetary policy and the financial system
- Interest in developing skills across policy, campaigns, and public affairs
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, managing tasks according to priorities and timelines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; an additional European language is an asset
- Previous internship or relevant experience is desirable but not required

Terms and Conditions
- Contract duration: 6 months
- Remuneration:
- €1,200 per month
- €55 per month for transportation costs
- Meal vouchers (€8 per worked day)
- DKV insurance (ambulatory and hospitalisation)
- Working hours: Ideally full time, with flexibility for the right candidate
- Work arrangement: Hybrid, with a mix of office-based work in Brussels and remote work from within Belgium
