About the Position
The Policy & Advocacy Manager is a full-time remote role available to candidates who can work from anywhere in North Carolina. The position requires up to 40% travel throughout the state to attend meetings, legislative events, partner engagements, and community activities.
Reporting directly to the Deputy Director, the successful candidate will coordinate policy and advocacy initiatives across multiple program areas, including Civic Engagement, Census initiatives, and Recovery & Resiliency efforts.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will play a leadership role in advancing NC Counts’ advocacy agenda by:
- Monitoring local, state, and federal policy developments.

- Coordinating legislative engagement and advocacy campaigns.
- Organizing legislative days and meetings with elected officials.
- Drafting public comments, policy briefs, reports, and advocacy materials.
- Building relationships with coalition members, policymakers, and community organizations.
- Leading advocacy trainings and educational workshops.
- Supporting compliance with nonprofit advocacy regulations.
- Collaborating with communications teams to strengthen public messaging.
- Assisting with grant proposals and policy-related reporting.

Who Should Apply?
