PMNCH Communications Consultant 2026: Remote Part-Time Global Health Opportunity – Apply by 28 September 2026

Professionals with experience in communications, advocacy, media engagement and global health now have an opportunity to work remotely with the Partnership for Maternal, Newborn & Child Health (PMNCH). The organisation is inviting applications for a Communications, Advocacy and Regional Engagement Consultant to support its global communications and advocacy work.
This is a part-time, home-based consultancy requiring approximately two days per week. The initial contract will run for one year, with the possibility of extension. Interested professionals are encouraged to apply early because applications are being reviewed on a rolling basis, with a final deadline of 28 September 2026.
PMNCH Communications Consultant 2026 – Role Overview
The Communications, Advocacy and Regional Engagement Consultant will contribute to PMNCH’s efforts to strengthen communications, advocacy and engagement with stakeholders across different regions.
The successful consultant will work across several areas, including strategic communications, media engagement, digital content, advocacy coordination, regional activities and knowledge products.
A major responsibility will be supporting the end-to-end development of the PMNCH annual report. This will involve gathering and developing content, coordinating contributions, editing materials and ensuring that the final publication effectively communicates the organisation’s work and impact.
Key Communications and Media Responsibilities
The consultant will play an important role in developing high-quality communications materials for different audiences. Responsibilities are expected to include writing, editing, proofreading and maintaining consistent messaging and tone.
The role will also involve building relationships with journalists and editors, identifying media opportunities and pitching stories, opinion pieces and campaigns.
Candidates may also contribute to human-interest stories that demonstrate PMNCH’s mission and impact. In addition, the consultant will support the communications calendar and coordinate social media activities across platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X and BlueSky.
Editing partner content and supporting co-produced blogs, interviews and other communications products will also form part of the position.
Advocacy and Stakeholder Engagement
Another important part of the consultancy is supporting the United MNCH Advocacy Working Group (UAWG). The consultant will help coordinate member organisations, meetings, follow-up actions and advocacy-related activities.
The successful candidate may also contribute to advocacy briefs, talking points, position papers, evidence products and technical resources. These activities will help connect advocacy priorities with PMNCH’s wider financing, accountability and regional campaign objectives.
The consultant will therefore need strong coordination skills and the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders and organisations.
Regional Engagement and Capacity Building
The position also provides an opportunity to contribute to regional advocacy and engagement activities.
Responsibilities may include supporting policy dialogues involving governments, regional stakeholders and partners, developing policy briefs, and helping organise capacity-building workshops.
The consultant may oversee selected regional activities from planning through implementation and reporting, while coordinating closely with regional focal points.
Who Can Apply?
This opportunity is particularly suitable for professionals with strong experience in communications, advocacy, global health, policy engagement, media relations or international development.
Candidates should demonstrate excellent writing, editing and proofreading abilities, as well as experience working with media and developing communications strategies or content.
Experience supporting advocacy coalitions or working groups is highly relevant. Applicants should also be comfortable developing advocacy resources, facilitating policy dialogues, preparing policy briefs and managing professional social media platforms.
Strong organisational and project-management skills are essential because the consultant will be expected to manage multiple deadlines and workstreams independently while also collaborating with colleagues and partners.
Experience with tools such as CMS platforms, Mailchimp, Typeform, Brand24, Looker Studio, Canva or Adobe Creative Suite would be an advantage.
English is required, while French is an advantage, particularly for professionals working with Francophone Africa.
