About the Philanthropy & Strategy Manager Role
The Philanthropy & Strategy Manager will work across a variety of projects and clients, with a significant focus on philanthropic fundraising strategy within the climate sector.
The successful candidate will research and prioritise potential funders, synthesise evidence, develop cases for support and help philanthropic organisations navigate complex strategic questions.
This is a role for someone who can work independently, exercise sound judgement and transform complex information into practical recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Own and deliver substantial components of consulting projects.
- Conduct funder research and prospecting within climate philanthropy.
- Develop and support fundraising strategies.
- Research and synthesise information across different subject areas.
- Identify important insights and translate them into recommendations.
- Manage client relationships and project contracts.
- Anticipate challenges and develop practical solutions.
- Produce high-quality, client-ready outputs.
- Turn complex information into concise strategies and communications.
- Participate in meetings with clients, freelancers and stakeholders.
- Manage multiple workstreams and changing priorities.
- Contribute to the growth and positive culture of CGC.

Skills and Experience Required
CGC is looking for someone with relevant professional experience in areas such as climate change, philanthropy, fundraising, strategy, consulting or the nonprofit sector.
Candidates should demonstrate experience in fundraising, donor research or prospecting, donor engagement and/or working with philanthropic funders.
Other important skills include excellent written and verbal communication, strong analytical and research abilities, and the capacity to quickly understand unfamiliar subjects.
Applicants should also be organised and comfortable managing ambiguity and multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience using digital tools, including the responsible use of AI for research, analysis and efficient delivery, is also valued.
