Position Overview

The organization is seeking a Volunteer Graphic Designer to support its communications and advocacy work by translating complex legal and research content into accessible visual materials.

This is a remote position with flexible working hours, requiring approximately 10 hours per week over a minimum period of 12 months.

Key Responsibilities

The selected designer will play a critical role in strengthening the organization’s visual communication and outreach.

Design and Publication Support

  • Designing reports, briefings, fact sheets, and advocacy publications
  • Creating infographics, charts, maps, and visual storytelling materials
  • Ensuring visual clarity and consistency across all publications

Communications and Visual Content Creation

  • Producing social media graphics and digital advocacy content
  • Translating complex legal and research data into accessible visuals
  • Supporting campaign and awareness materials for global audiences

Branding and Visual Identity

  • Maintaining consistent visual branding across platforms
  • Supporting the development of templates and design systems
  • Ensuring alignment with organizational identity standards

Production and Collaboration

  • Preparing print-ready and digital publication files
  • Collaborating with researchers, legal teams, and communications staff
  • Managing multiple design projects and meeting deadlines

Required Skills and Qualifications

Applicants should demonstrate strong technical and creative capabilities in graphic design, particularly within advocacy or research environments.

Key requirements include:

  • Proven experience in graphic design, preferably with NGOs or media organizations
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with Canva and digital design tools
  • Strong understanding of typography, layout design, and information visualization
  • Ability to design long-form reports and structured publications
  • High attention to detail and visual accuracy
  • Strong written and spoken English communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently

Preferred Experience

Candidates with the following experience will be strongly considered:
