The Global Resilient Cities Network (R-Cities) is inviting applications for the position of Senior Manager – Strategic Partnerships, a remote full-time opportunity for experienced professionals in fundraising, partnerships, business development, and international development. Senior Manager – Strategic Partnerships Role Overview
The Senior Manager – Strategic Partnerships will lead the development and management of R-Cities’ partnership pipeline. The position requires a combination of strategic thinking, relationship management, fundraising expertise, and strong communication skills.
The successful applicant will identify potential partners, coordinate funding proposals, manage partnership information systems, and support senior leadership in developing long-term relationships that contribute to organizational growth.
This remote role is open to candidates based in countries where R-Cities can employ staff directly or through Employer of Record arrangements. Preference is given to applicants working within GMT-5 to GMT+3 time zones.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Manager will be responsible for managing strategic partnership development and ensuring effective fundraising processes.
Main duties include:
- Identifying and cultivating relationships with philanthropic, corporate, institutional, and multilateral partners.
- Conducting prospect research and analyzing funding opportunities.
- Preparing partnership briefings and strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
- Managing assigned partner relationships and ensuring effective communication.
- Coordinating concept notes, expressions of interest, and funding proposals.
- Developing persuasive donor-facing materials that connect city priorities with funding opportunities.
- Maintaining accurate partnership pipelines, reports, forecasts, and fundraising records.
- Monitoring trends in climate resilience, urban development, finance, and international partnerships.
- Supporting organizational learning through documentation of partnership outcomes and lessons.
Skills and Experience Required
Candidates applying for this position should have at least five years of experience in areas such as strategic partnerships, fundraising, business development, resource mobilization, or program development.
Applicants should demonstrate experience with:
- Managing funding proposals and submissions from development to completion.
- Working with philanthropic, corporate, institutional, or multilateral funders.
- Writing and editing proposals, concept notes, and partnership documents.
- Conducting funding research and opportunity assessments.
- Collaborating with international teams and senior stakeholders.
- Using CRM systems or partnership management tools.
- Coordinating multiple contributors and deadlines in complex environments.
Experience related to climate adaptation, urban development, public policy, resilience, health, finance, or international development will be considered an advantage.
