About the Director of Institutional Partnerships Role

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Strategic Partnerships, the Director of Institutional Partnerships will lead Equimundo’s efforts to grow and diversify its international institutional funding portfolio.

The successful candidate will cultivate relationships with existing donors while identifying new funding opportunities from:

  • Private foundations
  • Corporate partners
  • Bilateral government agencies
  • Multilateral organizations
  • International development institutions

The role also involves translating Equimundo’s vision into compelling grant proposals that support innovative global initiatives focused on gender equality, fatherhood, digital safety, and social justice.

Key Responsibilities

The Director will oversee several strategic fundraising functions, including:

  • Building and maintaining long-term relationships with institutional donors.
  • Developing fundraising strategies to expand Equimundo’s funding portfolio.
  • Leading the preparation of major grant proposals for six- and seven-figure funding opportunities.
  • Managing grant agreements from award through reporting and renewal.
  • Coordinating donor stewardship activities and institutional engagement.
  • Organizing donor cultivation events and high-level stakeholder meetings.
  • Representing Equimundo at international conferences and strategic forums.
  • Maintaining donor records and pipeline management using CRM systems.
  • Collaborating across departments to develop competitive funding proposals.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess significant nonprofit fundraising experience together with strong leadership and communication skills.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Undergraduate degree.
  • Six to eight years of nonprofit fundraising experience.
  • Proven success securing six- and seven-figure grants.
  • Strong proposal writing and grant development experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience managing institutional donor relationships.
  • Strong organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Experience using fundraising CRM databases.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams.
  • Experience in gender equality, public policy, fatherhood initiatives, masculinities, or social justice.
  • Working proficiency in Spanish is considered an advantage.
