Palladium is seeking an experienced Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Program Coordinator to support the delivery of its Preventing and Responding to Gender-Based Violence in the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme initiative.

This full-time, fixed-term opportunity is available in Brisbane, Canberra (Australia), or Suva (Fiji) and is ideal for professionals with experience in GBV prevention and response programming, gender equality, safeguarding, and community development.

The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and implementing GBV initiatives across the Pacific and Timor-Leste, working with government partners, service providers, communities, and regional stakeholders to strengthen prevention and response efforts.

Gender-Based Violence Program Coordinator Opportunity

The GBV Program Coordinator will support the implementation of initiatives aimed at preventing and responding to gender-based violence within the PALM scheme.

This role requires a professional who understands the complexities of GBV programming and can combine technical expertise with practical implementation skills.

The successful applicant will work closely with the GEDSI team to develop culturally appropriate approaches, create educational resources, build partnerships, and ensure GBV prevention and response activities are effectively integrated across the program.

This is a hands-on position offering the opportunity to influence a high-impact regional initiative.

Key Responsibilities

The Gender-Based Violence Program Coordinator will be responsible for:

• Designing and delivering GBV activities under the annual program plan.
• Developing training materials, awareness resources, and educational initiatives.
• Supporting research and partnerships related to GBV prevention and response.
• Monitoring activities to ensure they remain on schedule and within budget.
• Identifying and managing risks associated with GBV programming.
• Building partnerships with GBV service providers, faith-based organisations, government agencies, and community stakeholders.
• Supporting collaboration with DFAT and the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR).
• Integrating GBV prevention and safeguarding approaches across PLMSP activities.
• Facilitating culturally appropriate GBV education programs.
• Supporting knowledge sharing and mentoring within the GEDSI team.
• Exploring ways technology, data, and artificial intelligence can improve program delivery.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Palladium is looking for candidates with professional experience in gender-based violence programming and community-focused development work.

Applicants should have:

• A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Gender Studies, International Development, Community Development, Anthropology, or a related social science field.
• Professional experience in GBV prevention and/or response programs.
• Knowledge of GBV programming in the Pacific and/or Timor-Leste contexts.
• Experience developing and delivering training or educational materials.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership-building skills.
• Experience managing budgets, resources, and program activities.
• Strong coordination, reporting, and risk management abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
• Commitment to safeguarding, ethical practice, and inclusive development.

Experience working in the Australian context will be considered an advantage.

Location and Work Arrangement

This position is based in:

• Brisbane, Australia
• Canberra, Australia
• Suva, Fiji

The role offers a flexible hybrid working arrangement, requiring a minimum of 50% office presence each week.

The position may also involve local and international travel as part of program delivery.
