About the Social Media Specialist Role
The Social Media Specialist will play an important role in planning, creating, and scheduling OSSO’s social media content. Key Responsibilities
The Social Media Specialist will assist with developing and maintaining OSSO’s monthly social media content calendar and help ensure content is planned and published consistently.
Responsibilities will include creating and scheduling content for Instagram, Facebook, and other applicable platforms. The specialist will produce short-form videos, including Reels and trend-based content, as well as carousel posts, graphics, Stories, and other visual materials.
The successful candidate will be expected to stay informed about changing social media trends, formats, sounds, and strategies that are relevant to OSSO’s target audience.
Another important responsibility will be developing creative content ideas that appeal to young adults and college students. The specialist will also capture and repurpose existing photographs, videos, testimonials, and volunteer experiences into engaging social media content.
Maintaining a consistent brand voice, visual identity, and messaging across platforms will also be part of the role.
The specialist will generate weekly social media performance reports, highlighting key metrics and results. They will also collaborate with the Marketing Director to support monthly campaigns, volunteer recruitment initiatives, and broader organizational objectives.
Qualifications
Candidates should have experience creating social media content for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, or similar channels.
A strong understanding of current social media trends and short-form video is important. Applicants should be comfortable creating Reels, Stories, carousel posts, and other forms of engaging social content.
Creativity and independence are highly valued. The successful candidate should be able to generate new content ideas without requiring constant direction and understand the types of content that appeal to college students and young adults.
