Swift Sports Organisation is a community-based organization operating in Wakiso District, Uganda. The organization is focused on youth empowerment and community development through sports and related social initiatives.
As part of its long-term sustainability strategy, the organization is developing income-generating and self-sustaining projects that can support its sports and administrative activities. One of these initiatives is a community-based piggery project designed to generate revenue while contributing to local economic development.
The organization is seeking external technical support to strengthen project planning, fundraising, and promotional efforts to ensure the success and sustainability of this initiative.
Position Overview
Swift Sports Organisation is seeking an experienced Project Partner to provide short-term technical and strategic support for the implementation of a community piggery project.
The role is designed for an independent professional with strong experience in project development, fundraising, and marketing. The selected consultant will support the organization in designing a clear implementation strategy, identifying funding opportunities, and promoting the project through communication and digital outreach.
This is a remote consultancy role requiring self-direction, initiative, and strong communication with the organization’s leadership team. The consultant will operate independently but maintain regular coordination with the executive team.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning and Implementation Support
- Support the development of a structured implementation plan for the piggery project
- Provide technical guidance on project design, sustainability, and operational planning
- Advise on resource allocation, timelines, and feasibility of project activities
- Help ensure that the project aligns with community development and income-generation goals
Fundraising and Resource Mobilization
- Identify potential funding sources, including donors, development partners, and grant opportunities
- Develop strategies for engaging funders and presenting the project effectively
- Support the preparation of basic funding proposals or concept notes
- Advise the organization on approaches to improve long-term financial sustainability
Marketing and Communications
- Promote the piggery project through digital platforms and social media channels
- Develop communication strategies to increase visibility and attract potential supporters
- Support storytelling efforts that highlight the project’s community impact
- Advise on branding and messaging to strengthen outreach efforts
Coordination and Advisory Role
- Work independently while maintaining regular communication with the organization’s executive team
- Participate in scheduled check-ins and progress discussions
- Provide ongoing advice on project development and problem-solving
- Ensure deliverables are aligned with agreed timelines and expectations
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of formal education (degree or equivalent qualification required)
- Strong experience in project planning, fundraising, marketing, or community development
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience identifying funding opportunities or donor engagement strategies
- Strong communication skills in English
- Ability to manage remote work and maintain regular coordination with stakeholders
- Experience in social media marketing or digital outreach is an advantage
Preferred Attributes
- International professional experience or strong global networking capacity
- Experience working with community-based or grassroots organizations
- Background in agriculture, livestock development, or rural development projects
- Strong entrepreneurial mindset with ability to support income-generating initiatives
- Fluency in additional languages such as French, Spanish, or German is considered an advantage
- Ability to contribute at a senior or advisory level
Work Expectations
The consultant will work remotely but is expected to dedicate approximately two full working days per week to the assignment. The role requires flexibility, responsiveness, and consistent communication with the organization.
The consultant will be expected to work independently while aligning with the organization’s leadership structure and strategic direction. Regular updates and coordination meetings will be held throughout the contract period.
Compensation and Conditions
This is a short-term freelance consultancy with a fixed project-based compensation range of USD $100–$200 for the assignment period. The role does not include additional salary, benefits, or long-term employment guarantees.
The consultant is expected to bring their own tools and work independently from their own location.
