About the Role

The Temporary Member Support Technical Specialist will join ORCID’s Engagement team and provide technical support to members and service providers integrating ORCID into their research systems.

Reporting to the Director of Engagement, the successful candidate will become an expert in ORCID’s APIs, registry, and integration best practices. They will help organizations troubleshoot technical issues, improve integrations, deliver technical training, and ensure members maximize the value of ORCID services.

This is a full-time, fixed-term contract of up to nine months, requiring 40 hours per week. Employees must be available during standard European business hours, with recurring meetings between 14:00 and 18:00 UTC, while benefiting from ORCID’s flexible remote work culture.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver high-quality technical support to ORCID members and service providers.
  • Assist organizations with integrating ORCID systems and improving existing implementations.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on ORCID APIs, workflows, user interfaces, and registry services.
  • Troubleshoot API-related issues and provide technical guidance.
  • Deliver virtual and occasional in-person technical training sessions.
  • Work closely with ORCID’s technical team to resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Identify opportunities for improving member integrations and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate technical issues with partner organizations when required.
  • Recommend improvements to technical support processes and documentation.
