About the Operations Manager Role
The Operations Manager serves as the organizational backbone of the Department of Bioregion. This position is responsible for ensuring the organization’s internal systems, financial operations, compliance requirements, and administrative functions run efficiently and effectively.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Director while supporting all organizational programs and fiscal sponsorship activities.
This role is being created as part of a planned leadership transition. The current Operations Director will remain involved during the onboarding process to provide training, mentorship, and institutional knowledge transfer to ensure a smooth transition.
Key Responsibilities
The Operations Manager will oversee a broad range of operational functions that support the organization’s growth and sustainability.
Key duties include:
- Managing nonprofit financial operations and bookkeeping processes.
- Ensuring organizational compliance with state and federal requirements.
- Supporting annual reporting and tax filing obligations.
- Coordinating insurance policies and organizational risk management activities.
- Managing contractor payments and financial administration.
- Maintaining accurate records and administrative systems.
- Supporting fiscal sponsorship operations and partner organizations.
- Monitoring organizational registrations and compliance deadlines.
- Assisting with human resources and personnel administration.
- Developing and maintaining operational procedures and workflows.
- Collaborating with leadership to strengthen organizational infrastructure.
