NetHope Seeks Brand Refresh and Visual Identity Consultant-Apply before 3 Apr 2026

NetHope, a leading organization leveraging technology for global social good, is embarking on a major brand refresh and visual identity project. As the organization approaches 25 years of impact, it is seeking a qualified consultant or agency to lead a comprehensive initiative that aligns with its 2024–2030 Strategic Plan. This initiative aims to enhance NetHope’s visibility, strengthen its messaging, and ensure consistent, compelling communication with diverse global audiences.

Project Overview

The selected consultant will collaborate closely with NetHope staff and stakeholders to co-create a refreshed brand identity. This engagement will involve structured working sessions, stakeholder interviews, and strategic research to ensure the brand refresh reflects NetHope’s mission, values, and future ambitions.

The project spans four key phases: Discovery & Research, Strategic Messaging, Visual Identity, and Application & Handoff. Each phase is designed to build upon the previous, ensuring a cohesive and well-integrated brand system.

Phase 1: Discovery and Research

The first phase focuses on understanding the current brand landscape and identifying opportunities for growth. Key activities include:

  • Conducting a brand audit of existing materials, messaging, and visual assets.
  • Reviewing the peer landscape to identify best practices and areas for differentiation.
  • Facilitating working sessions with internal staff to gather insights and perspectives.
  • Conducting interviews with key external audiences to understand perception and engagement.
  • Synthesizing findings into a discovery report with strategic recommendations for NetHope leadership.

This phase ensures the brand refresh is grounded in a thorough understanding of the organization’s current positioning and external environment.

Phase 2: Strategic Messaging

Once research insights are gathered, the consultant will develop a strategic messaging framework tailored to NetHope’s diverse audiences. Deliverables in this phase include:

  • Refining organizational positioning to clearly articulate NetHope’s unique value.
  • Developing a messaging architecture for various audience segments.
  • Creating core messaging documents, including:
    • Taglines and elevator pitches
    • Audience-specific value proposition statements
    • Boilerplate text for communications
    • Key messaging threads
  • Producing a brand narrative and one-pager for external communications.

This phase ensures NetHope communicates with clarity and consistency across all channels, reinforcing its impact in the humanitarian and technology-for-good sectors.

Phase 3: Visual Identity

The visual identity phase translates strategic messaging into a cohesive visual system. Key tasks include:

  • Presenting multiple visual identity concepts for stakeholder feedback, with at least two rounds of revisions.
  • Developing a refreshed visual identity system, including:
    • Logo suite
    • Color palette
    • Typography
    • Iconography
    • Graphic elements
  • Ensuring accessibility and usability across all platforms, including low-bandwidth contexts.
  • Producing a comprehensive brand style guide and flexible templates for staff use.

The goal is a visually compelling and accessible brand system that reinforces NetHope’s mission and can be applied consistently across global operations.

Phase 4: Application and Handoff

In the final phase, the consultant applies the new brand across core organizational materials. Deliverables include:

  • Branded templates for presentations, reports, social media, newsletters, and Canva assets.
  • Finalized brand assets delivered in all necessary formats.
  • Brand governance and usage guidelines to ensure consistent application over time.
  • A staff brand onboarding session to introduce the new identity and best practices.

Qualifications and Experience

NetHope seeks consultants with demonstrated expertise in end-to-end brand strategy and visual identity projects, ideally with experience in global nonprofits and humanitarian sectors. Preferred qualifications include:

  • Familiarity with network-based or membership organizations.
  • Knowledge of digital and technology for social good.
  • Experience managing multi-stakeholder brands across diverse, global audiences.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing comparable projects with measurable impact.

Timeline and Application

  • Project Duration: Approximately 2–2.5 months, starting no later than May 2026.
  • Application Deadline: April 3, 2026.
  • Selection Announcement: Mid-April 2026.

Consultants are expected to submit a single PDF (max 50 MB) including:
