Journey of Hope Nepal is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on providing educational opportunities for students from marginalized and low-income families in Nepal. The organization supports scholarships, school construction, youth skill training, and works in partnership with local NGOs to implement sustainable programs.
Position Overview
- Role: Fundraising Intern or Volunteer
- Location: Remote (work from home)
- Duration: 6 months or more (flexible hours)
- Remuneration: Unpaid
- Start Date: Second week of April 2026
This internship offers hands-on experience in fundraising, donor engagement, and nonprofit program support in the education sector for underserved communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and executing the organization’s fundraising strategy.
- Identify potential funding sources (institutional, corporate, individual donors).
- Plan and coordinate fundraising events, including logistics, promotions, and guest management.
- Conduct research on potential donors and sponsors to align with the organization’s mission.
- Lead the development of concept notes and funding proposals, ensuring compliance with donor guidelines.
- Design and implement donor acquisition programs, including digital campaigns and social media outreach.
- Support donor engagement and retention activities.
- Carry out other tasks as assigned to support the fundraising function.
Candidate Profile
- Relevant education or experience in fundraising, nonprofit management, or related fields.
- Familiarity with donor acquisition, fundraising campaigns, and digital marketing.
- Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and remotely.
- Knowledge of Nepal and its education system is a plus.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
