Mighty Earth Hiring Senior Associate for Climate and Environment Role in Brazil – Remote Opportunity 2026

Mighty Earth is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced climate and environmental advocacy professional to join its team as a Senior Associate: Climate and Environment. The position is based remotely within Brazil and focuses on advancing campaigns that address climate change, agricultural emissions, ecosystem protection and sustainable food systems.

The role is particularly suited to professionals with experience in climate campaigning, environmental advocacy, strategic communications, project management and stakeholder engagement who are passionate about creating systemic environmental change.

Senior Associate Climate and Environment Job at Mighty Earth

Mighty Earth is a global environmental advocacy organisation founded in 2016 and headquartered in Washington, D.C. The organisation works internationally to protect nature, address climate change and encourage corporate and policy action across major industries.

Its campaigns address issues such as deforestation, climate pollution, land rights, labour abuses and human rights within commodity supply chains, including beef, soy, palm oil, cocoa and rubber.

For this position, Mighty Earth is seeking a professional who can contribute to its climate, agriculture and food systems work in Brazil. A significant focus of the role will be reducing agricultural methane emissions and encouraging supermarkets, food companies, policymakers and other influential stakeholders to adopt more climate-friendly practices.

What Will the Senior Associate Do?

The successful candidate will play an important role in developing and implementing Mighty Earth’s Brazil strategy.

Key responsibilities include developing campaigns focused on climate, agriculture and food systems, conducting research and supporting investigations into environmental issues.

The Senior Associate will also help develop campaign reports, executive briefings, advocacy materials and other communications designed to influence decision-makers.

Another important part of the position will involve building relationships with stakeholders and partners. The successful candidate may participate in meetings with corporate executives, sustainability teams, policymakers, campaign organisations, legal professionals and other influential groups.

The role will also involve advocating for legal and regulatory mechanisms capable of reducing agricultural methane emissions and supporting climate action within Brazil’s food and agriculture sectors.

Skills and Qualifications Required

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in Communications, Environmental Studies or a related field.

Fluency in Portuguese and English is required, making this an especially important opportunity for bilingual professionals working in Brazil’s environmental and climate sectors.

Candidates should also have experience working in climate campaigning, environmental advocacy or a related field. Strong project management abilities are important because the Senior Associate will need to manage multiple priorities while working across multidisciplinary teams.

Mighty Earth is also looking for someone with excellent stakeholder engagement and networking skills. The ability to build coalitions involving different organisations and audiences will be valuable in this position.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are equally important. The successful candidate should be comfortable translating complex climate and environmental issues into accessible content such as reports, press releases, blog articles, social media materials, talking points and advocacy letters.

Desirable Experience

While not necessarily mandatory, additional experience in several areas could strengthen an application.

This includes professional experience in a similar senior advocacy position, knowledge of cattle production and agriculture, understanding of the relationship between agriculture and climate change, and demonstrated experience developing and implementing successful campaign strategies.

Experience working in an international or multicultural environment would also be beneficial.

Personal Qualities

Mighty Earth is seeking someone who demonstrates a strong commitment to environmental protection and social justice.

The ideal candidate should be adaptable, resilient and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment. Because climate advocacy can involve changing political, economic and corporate circumstances, the ability to respond strategically to new developments will be important.

The organisation is also looking for someone who is collaborative, entrepreneurial, results-oriented and capable of working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and communities.

Why Consider This Remote Opportunity?

This position provides an opportunity to contribute to environmental campaigns addressing major sources of agricultural emissions and ecosystem destruction.

The successful candidate will work with an international team and engage with corporations, policymakers, researchers, campaigners, lawyers and other stakeholders.

The role could therefore be particularly attractive to professionals who want to combine climate advocacy, communications, research, campaigning and stakeholder engagement in an international environment.
