Role Overview

The Editor-in-Chief will lead Pulso’s editorial direction and oversee the organisation’s content strategy across multiple digital platforms.

This role requires an entrepreneurial media leader with a deep understanding of digital audiences, social platforms, creator ecosystems, and modern storytelling.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing editorial vision, expanding audience reach, improving engagement, and building a strong media organisation that connects with Gen Z and Millennial Latino audiences.

Key Responsibilities

Editorial Leadership

The Editor-in-Chief will establish and guide Pulso’s editorial strategy.

Responsibilities include:

  • Creating and communicating Pulso’s long-term editorial vision.
  • Leading daily editorial operations across digital platforms.
  • Developing editorial standards and priorities.
  • Ensuring accuracy, consistency, and quality across all content.
  • Creating storytelling strategies that connect with Latino audiences.
  • Balancing current events, cultural moments, and Latino history.

The role requires strong editorial judgement and the ability to identify stories that inspire engagement and action.

Audience Growth and Digital Innovation

A major focus of the position will be expanding Pulso’s audience and strengthening digital engagement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Growing audiences across social media platforms.
  • Creating original video series and creator-led content formats.
  • Using audience analytics to guide editorial decisions.
  • Developing new formats including newsletters, podcasts, livestreams, and long-form content.
  • Experimenting with new storytelling approaches while maintaining Pulso’s unique voice.

The successful candidate will understand how audiences consume content online and how digital communities are built.

Team Leadership and Development

The Editor-in-Chief will manage and inspire Pulso’s editorial team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading, mentoring, and developing editorial staff.
  • Building a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Managing freelancers and creative contributors.
  • Supporting recruitment of talented editorial professionals.
  • Developing leadership capacity within the organisation.

Brand and External Leadership

Required Qualifications

Applicants should have strong experience leading digital media organisations.

  • At least five years of experience leading digital media teams.
  • Experience managing editorial staff, freelancers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of Gen Z media consumption habits.
  • Proven success growing digital audiences.
  • Expertise in social media platforms and video storytelling.
  • Excellent editorial judgement.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills.

Preferred Experience
