Professionals with a strong background in women’s rights, feminist advocacy, and international development have an exciting opportunity to join Womankind Worldwide as a UK & Global Advocacy Manager. This full-time hybrid position offers the chance to influence global and UK policy spaces while supporting women’s rights movements across Africa and Asia.

About the UK & Global Advocacy Manager Role

The UK & Global Advocacy Manager will play a strategic leadership role within the Policy and Advocacy team. The successful candidate will lead evidence-based advocacy initiatives, influence policy discussions, strengthen partner advocacy capacity, and contribute to the production of feminist knowledge and research.

This role is ideal for professionals who are passionate about advancing gender justice and have extensive experience in policy influencing, advocacy leadership, and feminist movement building.

Key Responsibilities

The position includes a wide range of responsibilities across policy, advocacy, research, and programme management.

Strategic Leadership and Advocacy

The successful candidate will:

  • Lead advocacy and policy engagement in UK, regional, and global forums.
  • Develop and implement advocacy strategies aligned with Womankind’s 2030 Strategy.
  • Identify key policy opportunities and advocacy priorities.
  • Coordinate participation in conferences, side events, and policy dialogues.
  • Support women’s rights partners to engage effectively in advocacy spaces.

Feminist Research and Knowledge Production

The role will also involve:

  • Leading the development of feminist research products.
  • Producing policy briefs, reports, and advocacy resources.
  • Ensuring all knowledge products reflect decolonial feminist perspectives.
  • Supporting dissemination of research findings to key stakeholders.

Partner Learning and Capacity Strengthening

The manager will:

  • Strengthen advocacy skills among partner organisations.
  • Facilitate learning and exchange opportunities across countries and regions.
  • Promote knowledge sharing among women’s rights movements.
  • Support collaborative approaches to advocacy and influencing.

Programme Management and MERL

Additional duties include:

  • Contributing to annual planning and budgeting processes.
  • Supporting monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and learning activities.
  • Developing advocacy-related MERL tools and frameworks.
  • Ensuring effective programme implementation and accountability.

Qualifications and Experience Required

Candidates should possess a postgraduate qualification in a relevant field such as:

  • International Development
  • Human Rights
  • Gender Studies
  • Legal Studies
  • Social Sciences

Equivalent professional experience may also be considered.

Applicants must demonstrate:

  • At least five years of experience in women’s rights and feminist advocacy.
  • Strong expertise in UK and global policy influencing.
  • Knowledge of women’s rights frameworks and intersectional feminist principles.
  • Experience producing research reports and policy briefs.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with governments, civil society organisations, and international institutions.
  • Strong programme management and advocacy MERL experience.
  • Previous line management experience.

Experience supporting fundraising proposals is considered an advantage.
