Remote Social & Behavioural Change Consultant Role

The selected consultant will support MAGENTA’s SBC projects in the MENA region, contributing to research, communications, and programme implementation activities.

This is a long-term framework consultancy where assignments will be provided based on project needs. Consultants will receive specific work orders with agreed payments depending on the scope of each assignment.

The role can be performed remotely, although preference will be given to candidates based in the Middle East who can travel regularly to client locations when required.

Key Responsibilities

The Social & Behavioural Change Programme Analyst Consultant will support activities including:

• Developing social and behavioural change strategies using behavioural science frameworks.
• Supporting communications materials and campaign development.
• Assisting with proposals and project bids.
• Supporting stakeholder engagement with governments, partners, and clients.
• Monitoring project implementation and identifying delivery challenges.
• Designing and managing monitoring and evaluation tools.
• Supporting data collection activities and impact measurement.
• Contributing to research reports, case studies, and knowledge products.
• Supporting project delivery within agreed timelines and budgets.

The consultant will work closely with senior MAGENTA team members to ensure high-quality programme implementation.

Required Qualifications and Skills

MAGENTA is looking for candidates with a strong background in communications, behavioural science, and humanitarian development.

Applicants should have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Master’s degree is an advantage).
• At least 2–3 years of professional experience.
• Minimum one year of experience in communications, campaigns, or SBC roles within the humanitarian or development sector.
• Knowledge of social and behavioural change frameworks.
• Experience supporting stakeholder engagement and partnerships.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively in complex environments.
• Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic.

Candidates must have knowledge of and experience living in the MENA region.

Technical Skills Required

Successful applicants should be comfortable using digital and analytical tools, including:

• Artificial intelligence tools for workflow automation.
• OSINT tools.
• Microsoft 365 applications.
• Data analysis platforms such as:
  • NVivo.
  • SPSS/Stata/R.
  • Sprockler.
  • KoBo.
  • Tableau.

Experience using evidence and data to improve social programmes will be highly valuable.
