Opportunity: Learning Program Facilitator – Video Making and Visual Advocacy
Location: Online / Remote
Work Format: Online
Focus: Video-making, visual storytelling and advocacy
Application Deadline: 25 September 2026
About the Learning Program
The GSF Learning Program aims to strengthen the skills of its grantee partners and provide practical tools that can support their advocacy, fundraising and communications work.
For this training, participants will learn how to use video to tell authentic and engaging stories about statelessness and discriminatory nationality laws. The videos will highlight the work being carried out by grantee partners, the impact of their activities and some of the challenges they encounter.
The selected facilitator will help participants communicate these stories effectively to the wider human rights sector, their peers and philanthropic audiences.
GSF already has a suggested training plan, but the selected facilitator will have an opportunity to discuss and further develop the approach. Applicants may also propose creative training methods that are appropriate for the participants.
Key Objectives of the Training
The training is designed to provide practical skills that participants can continue using beyond the program.
One objective is to build participants’ capacity in video storytelling so that they can apply the skills to future advocacy, fundraising and public communications activities.
The facilitator will also create a space for peer learning and discussion, allowing participants to exchange ideas and experiences around storytelling and communications.
Another important part of the training will be helping participants understand how to frame and structure their videos. The facilitator will guide them in developing focused and impactful stories that also meet GSF’s donor communications needs.
Participants will ultimately be supported in creating a series of two-minute impact videos that can be used for donor communications and fundraising.
What the Facilitator Will Do
The successful facilitator will be responsible for designing and delivering practical online training sessions focused on video-making and visual advocacy.
Training may include several live or recorded sessions. The final format can take into account participants’ languages and different time zones.
The facilitator will help participants develop their storytelling concepts, improve video structure and communicate their work in a clear and compelling way.
The role will also involve creating an environment where participants can share experiences, ask questions and learn from one another.
Because the training is intended to produce practical outputs, the facilitator should be comfortable combining instruction with hands-on exercises and guidance.
Who Can Apply?
The Global Statelessness Fund is seeking a skilled facilitator with relevant professional experience.
Applicants should have experience in areas such as:
- Human rights
- Visual storytelling
- Video-making
- Visual advocacy
- Designing and conducting online training
Experience working with human rights organisations, advocacy groups, civil society organisations or similar partners would be relevant to the assignment.
Strong facilitation skills will be important because the successful applicant will need to translate technical and creative concepts into practical lessons that participants can apply to their own work.
Applicants should also be able to adapt training methods to different participants, languages and time zones.
Selection and Application Process
Facilitators will be selected based on their competence and price offer. Applicants should therefore ensure that their submission clearly demonstrates relevant experience in video-making, visual storytelling, human rights communications and online facilitation.
Interested facilitators are required to complete the GSF information form by Friday, 25 September 2026.
