Landscape Alliance Hiring: Remote Consultant – GLF Speakers Engagement|Apply by 30 Sept 2026

Professionals with experience in communications, stakeholder engagement, project coordination, storytelling and international development have an exciting remote consultancy opportunity to consider. Landscape Alliance is seeking a Consultant – GLF Speakers Engagement to support the Global Landscapes Forum (GLF), a major international platform focused on sustainable landscapes, climate, biodiversity and development.

The position is offered as a nine-month consultancy and is designed for professionals who can work effectively across Europe and Africa time zones. Applications are open until 30 September 2026 at 5:00 PM EAT / 9:00 PM WIB.

About Landscape Alliance

Landscape Alliance is the operating name of the Center for International Forestry Research and the International Centre for Research in Agroforestry (CIFOR-ICRAF). The organisation works to turn scientific knowledge into practical action by promoting the potential of forests, trees and agroforestry landscapes to improve planetary health and human well-being.

The Global Landscapes Forum, launched in 2013 by CIFOR-ICRAF together with core partners including UNEP and the World Bank, brings together policymakers, scientists, communities, investors, businesses and other stakeholders working on sustainable landscapes.

The Consultant – GLF Speakers Engagement will contribute to this international platform by helping identify influential voices, build relationships with speakers and strengthen the quality and diversity of GLF events and campaigns.

What Does the Consultant Do?

The successful candidate will support the GLF Partnership & Engagement Coordinator and take responsibility for important parts of the speaker engagement process.

A major responsibility will be managing the end-to-end speaker journey. This includes identifying potential speakers, sending invitations, coordinating briefings, confirming participation and maintaining communication throughout the process.

The consultant will also identify leaders, experts and emerging voices whose work connects with GLF’s major themes. Particular attention will be given to gender diversity, geographic representation and voices from the Global South.

Another important part of the role involves maintaining the speakers’ database and supporting website updates. The consultant will help develop creative formats for both digital and in-person events while ensuring that speakers’ expertise is connected effectively to GLF’s wider discussions.

Communications and Storytelling

This opportunity is particularly relevant for professionals with strong communications and storytelling abilities.

The consultant will help develop content based on speakers’ knowledge and work with communications colleagues to amplify important messages across different media platforms. This could involve connecting speakers’ expertise to current global conversations and finding creative ways to reach wider audiences.

The role also involves supporting GLF communities, including GLFx Chapters, Youth and Restoration Stewards. Ensuring that frontline communities and local perspectives are represented in international events and campaigns will be an important part of the assignment.

The consultant will additionally support the Knowledge Committee in developing coherent and action-oriented event narratives and help nurture relationships with strategic partners.

Who Can Apply?

Landscape Alliance is looking for candidates with an academic background in areas such as Communications, Journalism, International Relations, Development Studies or a related discipline.

Applicants should have either a recent bachelor’s or master’s degree or, alternatively, a bachelor’s degree combined with at least two years of relevant professional experience.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. Candidates should also demonstrate experience in project management, coordination, planning, implementation and evaluation.

Knowledge of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is expected. Experience using Canva is considered an advantage, while knowledge of multimedia tools such as video-editing and digital content creation can strengthen an application.

Fluency in English is required. Additional languages, particularly French, Spanish, Indonesian or German, are considered an advantage.

Skills and Personal Qualities

Beyond formal qualifications, the position requires someone who is highly organised, proactive and comfortable working independently.

Strong relationship-building abilities are important because the consultant will interact with a wide range of stakeholders, including governments, donors, sponsors, community leaders, activists, artists, scientists and other influential voices.

The ideal candidate should also demonstrate strategic thinking, creativity, diplomacy and negotiation skills. The ability to manage competing priorities, work under pressure and communicate effectively with diverse teams will be valuable.

An interest in environmental and social challenges is also important because the role contributes directly to conversations around climate, biodiversity, restoration and sustainable development.

Remote Consultancy Opportunity

One of the major attractions of this opportunity is its remote working arrangement. The preferred location is within Europe/Africa time zones, making the position potentially accessible to qualified professionals across many African countries.

However, applicants should carefully review the official vacancy information and eligibility requirements before applying, particularly because consultancy arrangements can have specific contractual and administrative conditions.

Application Deadline

Applications for the Consultant – GLF Speakers Engagement position must be submitted by 30 September 2026 at 5:00 PM EAT / 9:00 PM WIB.

Applicants should prepare a strong CV highlighting communications, stakeholder engagement, project management, event coordination, digital content creation and international development experience where applicable.

This is an opportunity worth considering for professionals who want to work on a global platform connecting environmental experts, policymakers, communities and other stakeholders.

If your background combines communications, relationship management, storytelling and international development, this nine-month remote consultancy could provide valuable international experience while allowing you to contribute to global conversations on sustainable landscapes.

Interested candidates should review the official Landscape Alliance vacancy carefully and submit their application before the stated deadline.
