Join UNDP as a Conflict Resolution Consultant (Home-Based)

Are you an experienced conflict resolution expert looking for an opportunity to work with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)? The UNDP is currently seeking a Conflict Resolution Consultant to support the Office of the Ombudsman for UN Funds and Programmes. This is a part-time, home-based role that offers you the chance to contribute to promoting peace and resolving workplace conflicts globally.

Job Responsibilities:

As a Conflict Resolution Consultant, you’ll play a vital role in enhancing the operational capacity of the Office of the Ombudsman by:

  • Providing conflict management services to staff and non-staff personnel.
  • Facilitating the informal resolution of workplace conflicts in a neutral and confidential manner.
  • Collaborating with teams across various offices to support conflict resolution.
  • Conducting presentations and raising awareness on informal conflict resolution techniques.
  • Traveling to field offices when needed to respond to conflicts.
  • Performing additional duties to support the office as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Education: A Master’s degree in alternative dispute resolution, human resources, law, social sciences, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience, including experience in ombudsman services, conflict management, and prevention.
  • Languages: Fluency in English and either French or Spanish; knowledge of additional UN languages is a bonus.
  • Competencies: Strong communication, negotiation, legal analysis, and client management skills. Ability to work in diverse environments and navigate complex challenges.
