Key Responsibilities
The Communications Coordinator will support the organization’s digital communications efforts across multiple platforms and departments. Responsibilities include:
- Creating, editing, scheduling, and publishing content across social media platforms including Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Threads, TikTok, YouTube, X, Bluesky, and Substack.
- Developing engaging social media copy and digital content tailored to different audiences.
- Producing and distributing email newsletters and marketing communications.
- Designing graphics for social media, marketing campaigns, events, and email communications.
- Monitoring digital performance and preparing reports that identify trends and opportunities.
- Managing online community engagement and responding to audience interactions professionally.
- Monitoring conversations related to journalism, gender equity, and press freedom.
- Updating and maintaining the organization’s WordPress website.
- Supporting communications materials and collaborating with program and development teams on various projects.
Required Qualifications
IWMF is focused on demonstrated skills rather than specific educational backgrounds. Successful applicants should possess:
- Experience managing digital communications for organizations, clients, volunteer projects, or independent work.
- Strong social media management experience, including analytics and audience engagement.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

- Experience producing email newsletters and using email marketing platforms.

Compensation and Work Schedule
The Communications Coordinator position offers:
