2026 :GEDSI Workshop Consultant Opportunity with IPPF: Strengthening Inclusive Sexual and Reproductive Health Services

The International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) is inviting applications from qualified consultants to design and facilitate a Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) Workshop for the Family Planning Association of Nepal (FPAN). This consultancy offers an excellent opportunity for experts in gender equality, disability inclusion, and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) to contribute to more inclusive healthcare systems across Nepal and the wider South Asia region.

The assignment combines remote preparation with in-country workshop facilitation in Nepal and is expected to span approximately 20 days, with the workshop scheduled for the third or fourth week of August 2026.

About the Consultancy

The workshop forms part of IPPF’s Expanding Client-Centered Family Planning and Sexual and Reproductive Health (ECCD) Delivery Programme (2025–2027), a donor-funded initiative implemented in Indonesia and Nepal through IPPF Member Associations.

The programme aims to improve access to high-quality family planning and reproductive health information and services, particularly for marginalized, underserved, and vulnerable communities. Alongside expanding service delivery, the programme strengthens client feedback mechanisms, referral systems, and data management while embedding principles of inclusion throughout healthcare delivery.

Recognizing that gender equality, disability inclusion, and social inclusion are fundamental to quality healthcare, IPPF is investing in strengthening the capacity of its Member Associations through this specialized GEDSI workshop.

Purpose of the Workshop

The consultant will lead the design, adaptation, and facilitation of a comprehensive training programme that equips participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to provide person-centred, inclusive sexual and reproductive healthcare.

Using existing IPPF resources and toolkits, the consultant will tailor workshop materials to the Nepal context while encouraging peer learning, organizational reflection, and practical action planning.

The workshop is intended not only to strengthen individual knowledge but also to help participating organizations integrate inclusive approaches into their policies, programmes, and service delivery models.

Workshop Objectives

The consultancy seeks to achieve several important outcomes, including:

• Strengthening knowledge of Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) principles.
• Enhancing understanding of person-centred, inclusive sexual and reproductive healthcare.
• Mapping current organizational practices related to inclusive service delivery.
• Rolling out the GEDSI assessment tool and Diverse SOGIESC toolkits.
• Supporting organizations to develop practical GEDSI action plans.
• Building capacity to establish and co-lead a Learning Hub on Trans Healthcare and Gender Diverse Care.
• Encouraging collaboration and peer learning among participating Member Associations.

Consultant Profile

IPPF is seeking a consultant with demonstrated expertise in gender equality, disability inclusion, social inclusion, and sexual and reproductive health and rights.

The ideal candidate should have:

• Strong experience designing and facilitating participatory workshops.
• Expertise in Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI).
• Knowledge of inclusive and rights-based SRHR programming.
• Experience working with civil society organizations or international development programmes.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to develop practical, interactive training materials tailored to diverse audiences.

Experience working in South Asia or supporting Member Associations within international networks will be an added advantage.
