About the Role
The International Procurement Coordinator will join RI’s Supply Chain & Operations team, supporting global procurement of medical supplies, devices, and pharmaceuticals. The role involves sourcing from RI-approved international suppliers and ensuring timely delivery to country teams. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the full procurement cycle, including freight, customs clearance, delivery, payments, and documentation
- Supporting supplier relationship management and updating country medical sourcing strategies
- Assisting with tender drafting and procurement training for country teams
- Organizing procurement committee meetings and maintaining accurate records on SharePoint
- Preparing key documents such as RFQs, tenders, bid analyses, purchase orders, and contracts
This role requires collaboration with multiple stakeholders across RI operations and adherence to RI and donor compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and deliver medical supplies from RI-approved global suppliers
- Ensure compliant end-to-end procurement processes
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to prioritize product availability
- Support country teams with medical sourcing strategies, framework agreements, and tender development
- Provide procurement training and guidance for HQ and country offices
- Maintain organized records and update the HQ contract tracker
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
- Relevant procurement qualification, e.g., CIPS Diploma or equivalent
- Experience in international medical supply procurement, freight, and customs
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; Teams, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience designing and delivering training to stakeholders
- Strong relationship management and collaboration skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Willingness to travel up to 30%
Desirable:
- Experience in humanitarian operations with supply chain and logistics compliant with US, UK, EU, or UN donor policies
- Experience using Procure-to-Pay systems such as MS Dynamics or Oracle Netsuite
