Consultancy to Document Success Stories (Photos and Videos) on the iHEARD Project
Organizations working in development often rely on compelling stories to demonstrate impact and inspire change. A new consultancy opportunity from Farm Radio International aims to do exactly that by capturing and sharing powerful success stories from the Innovations in Health, Rights and Development (iHEARD) initiative in Malawi.
This consultancy focuses on producing high-quality photos and short documentary videos that highlight how the project has transformed the lives of adolescent girls and young women. The assignment offers communication specialists, photographers, and videographers a chance to contribute to a meaningful development initiative while showcasing their storytelling skills.
About Farm Radio International

By combining radio, mobile technology, and participatory communication methods, the organization helps amplify local voices and promote sustainable development solutions.
Through its projects, FRI focuses on improving livelihoods, health awareness, and social outcomes by empowering communities with accessible information.
Overview of the iHEARD Project
The Innovations in Health, Rights and Development (iHEARD) project has been running since September 2021 as a five-year initiative aimed at addressing barriers to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) for adolescent girls and young women in Malawi.
The project is implemented by a consortium of health, education, and communication organizations led by CODE, with support from Global Affairs Canada.
The program focuses on three key pillars:
- Education
- Health services
- Communication and social behaviour change
Through these pillars, the project seeks to dismantle social, cultural, and informational barriers that prevent young women from accessing essential health services and exercising their rights.
Purpose of the Consultancy

3. Editing and Content Development

Key outputs include:
- Three short videos (1–3 minutes each)
- High-resolution photographs for publication
- Edited versions of previously captured project videos
- Awareness materials for Prevention of Sexual Harassment, Exploitation and Abuse (PSHEA)
Videos will feature English voiceovers, with one version including subtitles in Chichewa.
