About the Intelligence and Foresight Analyst Role

The Intelligence and Foresight Analyst will play a key role within Plan International’s Global Affairs function by monitoring global political, economic, humanitarian, donor, and policy developments.

The successful candidate will provide evidence-based intelligence that helps senior leadership anticipate emerging risks, identify strategic opportunities, and strengthen the organization’s influence with governments, donors, multilateral institutions, and strategic partners.

The role requires strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to communicate complex information in clear and actionable formats for executive decision-makers.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Monitoring global policy, donor, economic, humanitarian, and geopolitical trends.
• Producing intelligence reports, strategic briefings, and horizon-scanning analyses.
• Preparing rapid-response briefing notes for the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, and International Board.
• Identifying strategic risks and opportunities affecting children’s rights and gender equality.
• Building relationships with think tanks, multilateral organizations, academic institutions, foundations, and private-sector partners.
• Conducting macroeconomic and fiscal analysis relevant to international development.
• Supporting strategic planning through evidence-based recommendations.
• Maintaining intelligence repositories and horizon-scanning systems.
• Identifying funding opportunities and partnership prospects.
• Translating complex research into concise reports, presentations, infographics, and executive summaries.
• Ensuring safeguarding and gender equality principles remain integrated across all intelligence activities.

Required Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

• A strong academic background in economics, political economy, international relations, finance, development studies, humanitarian affairs, or a related discipline.
• Experience in intelligence analysis, strategic foresight, policy research, or economic trend analysis.
• Experience working within NGOs, multilateral organizations, government institutions, research organizations, or leading consultancy firms.
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Experience analyzing donor behavior and international funding trends.
• Knowledge of global humanitarian and development policy.
• Ability to influence senior decision-makers through evidence-based recommendations.
• Experience using AI-enabled analytical tools to strengthen research and forecasting.

Desirable Experience
