For experienced business development and partnerships professionals looking to combine commercial growth with social impact, InnovateHer is offering an exciting opportunity to join its team as Head of New Business Development.

The role is designed for a senior professional who understands how to build relationships, develop sales pipelines and secure partnerships across the education and public sectors. It offers the chance to help expand access to technology programmes for young people while contributing to the growth of a purpose-driven social enterprise.

The position is part-time, remote-first and open to candidates working anywhere in the UK. It is offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract, with applications closing at midday on September 8, 2026.

About InnovateHer

InnovateHer is focused on preparing girls for careers in technology while helping the technology industry become more inclusive and ready to welcome them.

The organisation works with schools, students, corporate partners and other stakeholders to encourage more young people to explore technology and develop the skills and confidence needed for the future.

As InnovateHer expands its programmes and digital learning platform, the organisation is creating a new area of business development focused on education and public-sector growth.

The Head of New Business Development will play a central role in building this new revenue stream.

About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the successful candidate will take ownership of new business development across education and the public sector.

The role will involve developing relationships with schools, Multi-Academy Trusts, Combined Authorities and other public-sector organisations. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying opportunities, developing a strong pipeline and progressing prospects through the sales cycle.

They will work alongside the Head of Growth & Partnerships, who will continue to manage existing corporate partnerships, upselling and social value work.

This means the new Head of New Business Development will have clear ownership of a distinct growth area while remaining closely connected to InnovateHer’s wider commercial strategy.

Key Responsibilities

A major responsibility will be leading the growth of InnovateHer’s education and public-sector pipeline.

The successful candidate will:

  • Develop new partnerships with schools and Multi-Academy Trusts.
  • Build relationships with Combined Authorities and public-sector organisations.
  • Drive adoption of InnovateHer’s digital learning platform.
  • Identify and lead relevant bid opportunities.
  • Build and manage an outbound sales pipeline.
  • Use tools such as Apollo to support efficient outreach.
  • Develop pitches and proposals that communicate InnovateHer’s value.
  • Incorporate social value and educational delivery into public-sector opportunities.
  • Explore international market expansion where relevant experience and contacts exist.
  • Work with the wider leadership team to maintain a coordinated growth strategy.
  • Support the future recruitment of a dedicated sales team for the digital platform.
  • Represent InnovateHer confidently in senior-level conversations.

The role therefore combines business development, sales, partnerships, strategic growth and social impact.

Who Should Apply?

InnovateHer is looking for someone with a proven track record in public-sector, combined authority or Multi-Academy Trust sales and partnerships.

Experience in education, social impact, social enterprise or related sectors would be particularly relevant.

Applicants should be confident using outbound sales tools and capable of building and managing a pipeline independently. Experience with platforms such as Apollo is desirable.

The successful candidate should also understand longer public-sector sales cycles and know how social value and educational outcomes are positioned within bids and proposals.

Because this is a senior role, applicants should be comfortable representing an organisation at a strategic level and engaging with senior stakeholders.

A self-starting approach is important. The successful candidate will have significant responsibility for managing their own pipeline and priorities without requiring close daily supervision.

Additional Experience

Some experience and connections are not essential but could strengthen an application.

These include existing relationships with Combined Authorities or public-sector education bodies, experience supporting international market expansion and experience mentoring junior sales or partnerships colleagues.

Knowledge of the education, social enterprise or edtech sectors would also be beneficial.

Familiarity with tools such as Google Drive, Docs, email, Trello, Slack, Zoom and Google Meet is useful because InnovateHer operates as a remote-first organisation.

Most importantly, candidates should be passionate about helping more young people, particularly girls, access opportunities in technology.

Salary and Working Arrangements

The position is offered at 24 hours per week for a fixed term of 12 months.

The salary is £62,000 full-time equivalent, with a pro-rata salary of £40,000 for 24 hours per week.
