Overview of the Regional Head of Programs, Impact and Influencing Role
The Regional Head of Programs, Impact and Influencing will serve as a strategic leader within Plan International’s Asia Pacific Regional Team.
The successful candidate will oversee program quality, impact measurement, learning, research, evidence generation, and advocacy efforts across the region. The position plays a critical role in ensuring that country programs are accountable, evidence-driven, and capable of influencing policies and systems that benefit children and girls at scale.
This role requires collaboration across multiple country offices, national offices, and global teams while navigating a complex international organizational structure.
Key Responsibilities
The Regional Head of Programs, Impact and Influencing will be responsible for:
- Providing strategic leadership for high-quality regional programming.
- Aligning programs with Plan International’s Global Strategy and regional priorities.
- Leading monitoring, evaluation, research, learning, and impact measurement initiatives.
- Supporting the development of evidence-based and scalable development programs.
- Designing and implementing regional influencing and advocacy strategies.
- Strengthening evidence-driven policy engagement and communications.
- Promoting integration of gender equality and influencing approaches across programs.
- Overseeing regional grant management and donor engagement processes.
- Supporting proposal development and resource mobilization efforts.
- Advancing localization, youth participation, and equitable partnerships.
- Enhancing regional visibility through communications and knowledge products.
- Managing and developing a high-performing regional team.
Qualifications and Experience Required
Plan International is seeking a highly experienced development professional with a strong background in leadership, programming, and impact management.
Candidates should possess:
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in the development or humanitarian sector.
- A minimum of four years in senior leadership positions.
- Significant experience working within the Asia Pacific region.
- Expertise in monitoring, evaluation, research, learning, and impact measurement.
- Strong advocacy and influencing experience.
- Experience engaging with government institutions and policy systems.
- Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.
- Experience in donor engagement and resource mobilization.
- Strong understanding of gender equality and rights-based programming.
- Knowledge of child safeguarding principles and practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Cultural sensitivity and adaptability in multicultural environments.
Location and Contract Details
The role offers flexibility for qualified candidates based within a Plan International country office, with Bangkok being the preferred location.
