Purpose of the Role

The Research & Impact Evaluation Lead will play a central role in ensuring that Clear Solutions’ programs are data-driven and highly effective. As the organization scales, the need for rigorous epidemiological research and statistical analysis becomes increasingly critical.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will lead end-to-end research and evaluation processes, including:

Research Design & Implementation

  • Identify key research questions aligned with program goals
  • Develop methodologies and sampling strategies
  • Design and implement data collection tools (e.g., SurveyCTO)
  • Monitor field data collection processes

Data Analysis & Management

  • Clean and analyze datasets using R or Python
  • Conduct advanced statistical analysis, including:
    • Regression models
    • Difference-in-Differences analysis
    • Power calculations and sampling techniques

Monitoring & Data Quality Assurance

  • Build systems to ensure high-quality data collection
  • Develop automated checks (e.g., GPS validation, anomaly detection)
  • Troubleshoot data collection tools and processes

Strategic Insights & Reporting

  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights
  • Produce reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Support decision-making with evidence-based recommendations

Partner Collaboration

  • Work with NGOs and healthcare partners to strengthen monitoring and evaluation systems
  • Integrate data insights into broader program strategies

Required Qualifications

Candidates interested in this role should meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree in:
    • Epidemiology
    • Biostatistics
    • Data Science
    • Health Economics or related field
  • At least 2+ years of experience in:
    • Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E)
    • Quantitative research or impact evaluation
  • Strong proficiency in:
    • R or Python for data analysis
    • Statistical modeling and causal inference
  • Experience designing sampling frameworks and conducting surveys
  • Excellent communication skills to present technical findings clearly

Preferred Skills

While not mandatory, the following will strengthen an application:

  • Experience with data collection tools such as:
    • SurveyCTO
    • ODK or Kobo Toolbox
  • Background in global health or international development
  • Familiarity with GIS tools like QGIS or ArcGIS
  • Postgraduate qualifications (e.g., MPH or MSc)

Work Environment & Benefits
